The fit seems to be on point, but the shoulder accenting is really shitty. It makes his shoulders look like volleyballs.

Of course, the blue is horrendous. I've seen some dark navy blue leather jackets, and they looked exquisite.

If this guy wanted a properly bespoke leather jacket, he shouldn't have gone to ToJ. He should have contacted Alexander Leathers, Langlitz, or Aero. Of course, these guys cost a lot more that ToJ, but they use much better quality leathers and their tailors are some of the best.

It is unfortunate to see a bespoke leather jacket done horribly. Absolutely disgusting.

I've handled a Double Rider in cowhide and, to me, the quality was unimpressive. A close inspection of the leather revealed leather that was only tanned on the surface, so it was pretty unfinished. It was still tough stuff, though.

Aero, Alexander, and the rest will use Horween leather upon request. All their leathers, from goatskin, to kudu, to horsehide are supple.

However, to be honest ToJ is one step down in the price bracket. It was wrong to dismiss ToJ outright, I'll admit.

Yes, it most certainly is.

I've seen a lot of "potato sack" fits from Aero. However, I've seen some trendier (and less "dadcore") custom work from Aero featuring modern cuts.

When requesting custom work, don't just send your measurements, communicate a lot with the tailor. Ask for the design plans, the blueprint. Some of these guys will scratch up a canvas mock-up of your custom jacket.

I believe that a lot of the shitty ToJ fits were a result of poor customer-to-tailor communication.
