I cut my boyfriend's hair once. We assumed that since I was very good at styling wigs (theater school) that I'd also be very good at cutting hair.

NOPE! I made him look like Willard. I thought it was funny. He was not amused.

I wanted to try cutting my own hair since I moved to someplace in the middle of nowhere recently and can't find anyone here to do it. (I'm from NY and used to go to Bumble & Bumble, so I'm kind of fussy about haircare.) Only the memory of the Willard cut and the google image results for "women cutting own hair" have kept me from going down that path.

Fuck, I need a haircut. It's so long I keep thinking there are spiders crawling down my back, but it's just my hair.

my mum cut my hair until I moved out at age 18. never saw what's wrong with that.

Now I go to barber shops, relatively high-quality ones, too. But sometimes, when I don't feel like a completely new haircut, I just take the clippers and do a bit of readjusting on the sides or go to a very cheap one
