In general, I think it's easier for most looks since a totally laced up boot can have a VERY harsh, severe look. If you have a shorter, ankle-ish height, then maybe, but I think if you're consider a true tall combat boot, leaving a little ease at the top and tucking it will probably be the most versatile with the most looks. You could always just try it in the store and see how you like it.

Oh, well, these aren't a true combat boot. I think you could tuck if you wanted, or even with a slouchier pant maybe cuff it and play up the height of the sneaker, but it's a pretty narrow shaft and you could easily leave the pant leg over the boot if you wanted.

i really like the effect of a sturdy, architectural boot with a cropped pant on top, it's pretty versatile, giving you a lot of freedom to play with your top pieces, letting you swing towards something really sculptural or even something really delicate.
