At the same time though, money is not a guarantee of aging well. Treat your body like shit and you won't age gracefully. Smoke and you'll look like leather by 40-50. I know plenty of ugly rich folks. Live well, look good longer.

Melanin in skin, for one. It means better resistance to sun. I also remember hearing about higher disease resistance in tropical people being attributed to nordic regions being poor breeding grounds for most diseases (plus, less sun = less melanin).
Some of it could be diet, too. Eat fish and seaweed and rice all the time with a utensil that encourages smaller bites, you'll probably end up thinner in a few years.
