Well, I've worn some Dr. Martens produced in the 60s and those were some pretty good quality boots. Nice thick leather and the sturdy comfortable sole. Much better quality than post-2003 Martens.
Though, I've only worn 14-eye boots, I'd say cop them.

Eh I got some 1460s from them a few months ago, supposedly genuine leather. They've held up well enough and they still look decent but they get creased and have tons of scrunches/wrinkles in the surface which was something I didn't think happened with real leather.

Got a pair of black made in england 1461's. Had them for about 4 years and they're still holding up great. I like the fact that they look like shoes a postman might wear.
