Then you step out on your balcony - n.b. your balcony, not your deck; decks are for cheap bars by the beach - and you see the world.

You want exposure? You want people 'mirin? Do your guests? Honestly, parties get better - for virtually any definition of better - the more tucked away they are, unless you get an anti-tucked, piercing-of-the-veil sense of total public, bodily democracy and anti-inhibition going. That takes a real public space, at least a club, preferably somewhere outdoors.
