This is my own personal opinion, but it would be so much more beneficial if the website was geared towards a lookbook style layout, than just paragraphs and paragraphs detailing styling options.

Also instead of just listing brands, I think it should incorporate more of a community input. Where people could showcase what they have brought and post it under the particular brand accordingly.

Also since fashion is constantly evolving, people need to be constantly updating new content to tuxbell, which I find is lacking. Who is going to take responsibility for adding new content? Anyone from the public or is someone/a group going to continuously monitor it?

Finally, as I read the content in tuxbell, it just seems like I am reading book about losing weight. You get what I mean? Its not enabling people to get more involved into fashion. Its like going to a museum and learning about fashion instead...

Sorry for the rant, I just think tuxbell needs to be more organized and have a clearer method of informing the audience with its content. Like what is the actual aim of tuxbell? Is it to just record fashion trends or is it there to inspire people with their choices?

>>6263739
>>Will it stay in style

That is a really good point.

Again apologies for the rant, I have just seen this website being given to so many people on /fa as a bible. When I just don't think its at the stage where it could aid people to make informed choices.

The new sticky (Tuxbell) is meant to be a seperate entity with info about starting out, basic structure of a wardrobe, styles, trends, stores etc that supplements /fa/, so somebody relatively new to the board can get some advice without making a thread. Having a solid sticky leaves /fa/ free for discussion about fashion and not being clogged with "where are good stores?" or "how do i into streetwear?".

The old sticky isnt that good at stopping these, and since nobody can really update it its not relevant or helpful to a beginner. Tuxbell is fixing this.

idk but i think this is a pretty good way to do it, /fit/ has a good sticky for pretty much anyone new to the board.

Ahhhhhhhhhh I see now.

That actually clears up a lot of questions. But definitely though, I didn't intend to indicate that tuxbell was a wasted effort. I really do think its a good idea.

I just got quite confused with the amount of explicit information that was on there, stating not to wear this or not to wear that. I found that quite limiting in terms of the ability for the audience to choose or to support creativity.

Thank you for the reply though, it really did clear up a lot of things.

>Artisinal/Post-Glamour/post-Glam Rock Post-slimane Dior

this section on the style page is kind of bs. Like what did the person that wrote this want to talk about? Gothninja? Anti-fashion? Independant brands? Putting MMM, Rick, "Post-Slimane Dior" and Yohji as brands that follow thi style is kind of messy and stupid, seeing as those brands have completely diff aesthetics. I propose changing it to either talk about "Gothninja", even though I personally don't like the pigeonholing characteristic of the term (maybe we should call it Dark fashion?, seeing as it may be less exclusive to other spinoff styles), because we constantly use the term on /fa/. I'm ready to write something

Also a LOT of the images are very bad, and I have a ton on my HD that would be more appropriate for streetwear, techwear, #menswear, etc. How do you upload images on the wiki? I'm not really experienced in wiki formatting. Pic related would be great on the Y-3 page for example imo

It shouldn't be avant guard. Avant Guard is a relative term. It's always going to be different. It also presupposes that gothninja hasn't already become a codified style with a set of common characteristics.

It should simply be "gothninja" because that's what we call it. If someone wants to get particular they can do that in the body text, but the heading should be "gothninja"

How does someone even try to edit the mens basics page? The way it's written is totalitarian as fuck. There is no perfect fitting t-shirt so why even try to define it? I probably have 3-4 different shaped t-shirts in my closet and I run a really minimal set up. For example if I'm wearing a t-shirt under a blazer the length of the blazer for me will define the length of the t-shirt. Or sometimes I have a pant with really cool front pocket detailing that I want to show off, then I'm going to wear a much shorter (almost cropped t-shirt) to expose that. Or if I'm layering a lot of black and want to break it up I might wear a coloured tall tee that would hang beneath a hoody and tank. Widths are the same deal if I wanted a really tailored fit I'd be looking at something like 19" pit to pit but I have stuff like t's with kimono sleeves that go up to 25" and look chill as hell.

Also what is this bullshit about everyone needs to own crew and vnecks? I think I've owned one v-neck tee in my entire life, frankly I think they look douchey, not saying someone can't wear them and look great but the idea that everyone should is stupid. The colour choices are fine but then again it's pretty hard to criticize black, white, and grey.

Also the dress shirts category is kind of fucked because it mentions business attire. If you want to talk about that make it an entirely separate page or maybe someone needs to write that the whole page is for business wear, that would certainly eliminate all my t-shirt criticisms. But then again who the fuck actually goes onto /fa/ for advice on business attire? It's such a small segment of the population and yet almost the entire page is written from that perspective. Like just skimming for example, look at this shit:

>Jeans are very casual and shouldn't be worn anywhere other than a casual setting.

It's not a good primer for how to get started, it's an instruction booklet for how to be a lemming.

Please don't put stuff on another page. If you want to do something on trends just put it on the styles page in it's own section

>> No.6268049

>>6268046
the problem is I don't want to clog up the styles page with stuff like seapunk/post-internet/whatever

if you have a reason why it should go on i'm all ears thoughhh

>> No.6268069

>>6268049
Because I'd rather see one page with a lot of content than dozens of disparate pages with little content and a cluttered navigation bar.

Also, people need to remember the purpose of a sticky. It's not to give a stage to express every fashion idea that pops into your head. It's to help people and give solid, reasonable advice about distinct, significant topics.

>> No.6268104

>>6268069
well the styles page isn't complete yet anyway, and trends isn't important enough to add to the sidebar

the reason i added trends wuz cuz people disputed things like tumblrcore and lunarcore being on the styles page, so i just made a new page for it. It would be strange to divide mishmash them together.

I figure they wanted stuff like that added because people come in here asking about different trends so having them on the wiki helps. Technically, the only thing it changes other than it existing is a sentence at the top of styles which links to it

>> No.6268148

>>6268104
I think it would make enough sense to people to just do a ==number two header== for Styles and then one on the bottom for trends. They're the same basic thing, one is just more ephemeral than the other. Though, honestly, Seapunk is the only legitimate trend on that page and I don't even think it's a thing anymore.

Thinking it might be a good idea to have a "Best of WAYWT" section? Just selecting a few of the best fits from each WAYWT to make a nice catalogue of decent fits from real people on /fa/.

That would be almost as bad as the tripfag page.

Maybe it'd work if you didn't call it "BEST of wawyt"

It would be bad because no fit is universally liked, so people would be adding/removing pictures like crazy. >>6275538 is a good example - I really liked the fit, but a majority didn't.

Just call the page "WAYWT of /fa/" or something simple and leave it at that.
