Hey /fa/

I used to frequent mfa and I usually do the dadcore/preppy sort of look popular there. After coming here and seeing streetwear, goth ninja, and all the different kinds of styles there are, I want to try something new. I've been looking at certain brands (mostly All Saints because it's not butt fuckingly expensive and most pieces look pretty good). What are some other brands you'd recommend to get into darker streetwear (no skater or swagfag brands pls) and "entry level" goth ninja (no really avant garde, runway stuff or anything crazy expensive like RO). Just give me some essentials (shoes, pants, jackets, whatever man). Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate it if you can.

Pic related is pretty much the style I want to move on to. It's from the All Saints lookbook.

stay the fuck off my darker streetwear

y-yes sir

>> No.6226042

Same here, I think all saints is a good entry level brand before you move on to things like rick owen.

I really like their jeans, but only because I hate having to get 34 inseam or higher for decent selvedge.

Just don't be a queer and go basic black/grey.

I was planning on starting off by just copping some basic darker pieces and then getting some white, brown, or indigo to make it less monochrome. I never got raw denim when I went on mfa, I just stuck to Levi's. Should I get some jawnz before getting All Saints jeans? Also, do drop crotch chinos or jeans look okay in person?

>> No.6226073

Buy some black N&F super skinny guys, black or dark grey high tops or boots. Go with whatever you think in necessary for tops.

Alexander Wang you dundercunt

someone should put together a gothninja basis infographic with like dropcrotch sweats, slim fit jeans, cheap high tops, asym shirts, deep hood jackets, and all that

Might be a lil too expensive to start off with, but I'll check his stuff out later on. Thanks.
>>6226080
That's pretty much why I'm making this post, since I've never seen any basics on this style except for once on mfa. I went to the sticky but, as mentioned ad nauseum here, it's outdated.

For tops you could try monochrome pocket tees, crewnecks, scoop necks, vnecks, maybe tanks.

For outerwear denim, leather, bombers.

i don't goof, i think most people who do would tell you to just save up. honestly it's not too hard to figure out what the basics of the style are just by looking at fit pics, i mentioned a few of em above. the problem is coming on those things for cheap.

if it were me i'd probably just cheap out on the bottom layers (pants and shirts) and spend more on the shoes and jackets since that's what really makes most of the fits. the gothninjas here will never forgive you (muh quality) but i think it would be passable.

show me one good """gothninja""" fit with cheap high tops

the problem with you fuccbois is you end up liking a style, then do everything you can to take shortcuts and imitate what you see using the cheapest shit you can find.

like if you're gonna commit, commit don't half ass it like you have been doing with everything your whole life

Yeah, a lot of the stuff I've seen is pretty expensive. I don't want to do the full on goof yet, I just want to ease into it. Could All Saints boots work instead of Dick Ovens for a while? This is all pretty new to me, so thanks for the help man

just get dr martens dude. also this guy is right

>>6226161

you should save up if you cant buy pieces at once and slowly to research and accumulate items for a wardrobe. you cant just create a shopping list and buy everything you need in one evening, it doesnt work that way. these types of garments are hard to find if you want a genuinely good, distinctive wardrobe.

i dunno, i don't follow the style that closely but i said above i'd spend more on the shoes and jackets.

i think you could pull a decent fit with damir doma silent hi tops or adidas slvr cupsoles, though i'm sure you'll disagree with me.

I kind of have a similar question. I'm trying to go for a look similar to the op picture, kind of dressy punk/goth, minimalish. I'm whittling down to navy, black, white, gray, and maroon. Already have black boots, suede black cdbs, black and white sneakers, black and oakwoody/maroon brogues (not into high tops outside of boots). Gray and black and white sweaters, oxfords in all these colors, black bomber, working on a nice charcoal single breasted peacoat. Drapey hoody, all da jawns, etc.

Thing is I can't find any tops. Outside of the oxfords I generally just wear plain tight ts but I'm looking for drapey and asym ts. I'm going to Poland this summer and have to NYC as I live pretty close, anybody know anywhere to look? Just went shopping in NYC and didn't really see anything that wasn't guady streetwear or AS, which I didn't like that much. which I'm not into or 5th ave shit. I can afford CDG and OC stuff but not rick.

Does COS carry this kind of shit? I know they have them all over europe including where I'm going to be staying, and they look within my price point.
