So I don't know if /fa/ is the place for this.

But, what are your favourite perfumes which get you the most compliments by girls?

I've gotten a lot of compliments on bleu de chanel, allure & l'homme by YSL.

From older women & weirdly enough my friends, terre d'hermes.

Now I'm looking for another perfume, which is attractive for girls my age (20-24).

I already have bleu de chanel, terre d'hermes, l'homme by YSL, dior homme, voyage d'hermes.

This is generally the problem regarding females and cologne. Honestly, I wear cologne to smell nice and i want others to think I smell nice, so designer frags are fine to me. anyways, go to a cologne store and as for the most popular frags.

There's a guy I work with who wears that, and everyone curses when he's on shift because he sprays it on so strong and everyone tells him he smells like a chick. Ironically, I get complimented when I'm wearing Pamplemousse Rose. Only at work though, and once when I visited my Mum. It's fucking weird.

Aside, I often get compliments on the Heeley frags I have (Sel Marin and Cardinal; Tigre to a lesser extent), and Guerlain Boisee. My gf like Hinoki the most, and that's my go-to.

this, this, this, this

You're the one who's going to be smelling *you* the whole time your fragrances siliage is lasting. Sure you may get compliments, and sure some people may love how you smell.

But think about this; if they "love" how much you smell, chances are, the fragrance is reminding them of something, considering the inexorable link between scent and memory. If this is the case, your 'complimented' fragrance could be reminding them of a previous significant other. So maybe you think you're riding high on the compliment train, but in reality, you might just be reminding other people of their previous love interests, and therefore, not thinking of you. Just something to consider.

ive got a fairly nice little collection of niche and designer frags.

of the ones ive worn that i have been complimented on, these are those ranked by number of compliments:

>1. tauer - l'air du desert marocain
it must work well with my skin or something. the drydown is literally a panty dropper for me. shame, because im a bit sick of it at the moment. but its def my fave frag ever and ive received many compliments from a variety of women and a few bent bros.
>2. thierry mugler - a*men
black chicks love this shit. white girls as well but i get more compliments from the darker girls.
>3. lolita lempicka au masculin eau de minuit
this is a flanker of the original that contains oud wood as well as the licorice/anise. masterpiece imo but not for everyone. i had a girl describe it to me, before we went to bed, as "sexual licorice".
>4. versace - the dreamer/CdG - 2man
only got passing comments about these. no heated situations or flirting, but i like them. they'll come through for me one day...
>5. creed - aventus
i think its a bit overrated and its ability to garner compliments has reached meme status on basenotes.net. i tried it many times with no luck. then one day i wore it to the chemist when i had a fever. maybe it was my elevated body temp, but the girl who served me was acting like the most awkward /r9k/ beta. it was cute. and it definitely wasnt how i was dressed or my looks, i was sick as a dog and in sweats.

>>6215304
I got a 30ml decant of that hyped up pineapple batch... Its probably the only cologne that I am slightly tempted to buy beacuse the compliments are just so insane with it. I litterally was at a mall once and a I had a couple people stop to tell me to ask what I wear wearing and then other people in the mall saw a group gathering and they thought I was someone famous and started asking for my autograph lol.

I guess for aventus the whole batch buisness scares me so I cant say what I would do for sure once my decant runs out.. You can get stuff cheaper on fragrancenet and lots of people like/swear by them but I got a bit of a funky bottle of new harlem from them so im not really sure what to advice you lol.

If your looking for cheaper stuff that gets compliements just something liek guess seductive(the purple one)gets me compliments quite a bit to.

Thanks for the info, yeah the whole "batch" thing for creed scares me as well but the fact that they regularly make new batches does in-fact give me some ease. Probably going to make the two hour drive to Saks Fifth and try some out.

Never forget that /fa/ is a group of teenaged/university aged guys who very often have no experience with fragrance at all, or if you suggest something artisanal they will ask if they can buy it at the mall. Some people are really just trying for the first time.
Also this thread was about what uni-aged girls like to smell. Based on my experience of being in a sorority, they have pretty simple taste. "Don't smell like a drunk, her father, or an immigrant. Don't introduce exotic notes that could be perceived badly"
If OP is looking to snag pussy more than he is to build a fragrance collection he may as well save some money

I really want this Dior Intense(heard good things about it) but nowhere in my area carry it. Should I blindly buy it?

yea its scary ridiculous that there can even be such things as a smokey batch or a pineapple one. Its really pretty bull shit considering the amount of money you have to pay for it. Again I dont think the pineapple one is that great but the compliments are insane for it.. I think it like a lot of other colognes like the channel stuff are just really clean smelling? So its hard for other people to NOT like them I guess? Maybe thats why there so popular across the board.

they're so popular because they're incredibly inoffensive. they're essentially decently executed but totally bog standard mass market fragrance marketed with the trappings of niche perfume in spite of being carried at fucking walgreens.

Yes. Now I've got about 15 bottles, 10 of which I barely ever use. After the initial excitement of getting a new cologne, I find myself going back to the same old ones I have always liked anyway.

The best thing to do is to get decants from Crystal Flacon or Basenotes. Get yourself a good dozen or so decants, and they will easily last you a good couple of months if you don't go crazy with the amount of sprays and rotate them, and you don't end up with 100ml bottles you use twice and put in the pack of the wardrobe.

MR is the only FM that has good longevity. Which sucks, because the clove note is horrendously offensive. Try something like Bois d'Orage/French Lover, Angelique sous la Pluie, Bigarade Concentree, and tell me if you still think the longevity is good.

Wait. Stop. Don't do that, especially if you have rather tight schedule. I have a sample of it and at first it's something so perfume-heavy and sweet a lady in her 60s would wear. The "aftertaste" after 2 hours is maybe okay, but waiting at home for 2 hours before going out isn't nice.

No one is white in this thread.

Just saying.

I had never seen basenotes before and I looked at it. No one is white and everyone is complaining about "not being strong enough" except for the very strongest scents.

When did smelling persian become upper middle class white? Or who are we trying to fool?

I posted the Bois d'Orage pic earlier in the thread, and I can get 5-6 hours out of it. I don't need more than that, honestly. Nevertheless, Heeley is a niche house that makes fragrances with better longevity, for example. Additionally, I own the Chez Monsieur candle, and even though it smells really sophisticated, I'd much rather use a Cire Trudon candle, because the latter are much better at filling up a room.
