Timex just doesn't look good from an aesthetics viewpoint.

And by that I mean that they don't have any aesthetic to them.

At least basic bitch wear has the courtesy to be kind of fast fashion-y, but Timex is basically the limp dick of watches.

It's not classic/timepiecy nor temporary, it's just an inoffensive watch you can wear with practically anything and is not very good build quality-wise

Timex carries a number of different styles, so stating that the brand as a whole doesn't look good aesthetically is incredibly general, there is no "timex" look.

They are a perfectly fine entry level watch and you can find some gems within their collections that fit pretty much every style out there.

I've looked at the collection once and not a single one was "striking" to me.

It doesn't project anything or make a statement about itself.

>> No.6190522

>>6190421
I find that hard to believe. Maybe your definition of striking is actually over the top, something can be simply designed, work well, and still have some aesthetic value to it.

I also don't see how it is afraid to exist, or has no reason to be. It seems like you are trying to be pretentious, which is rather depressing.

Also, if you are buying a watch to make a statement, you are buying ti for the wrong reason. A watch doesn't need to project anything, or make a statement at all. All it needs to do is tell time properly, and look good doing it.

We're on a fashion board though.
I already told you that Timex just makes watch-Watches

I just find it hard to like this sort of watch, the round lettering, the shape of the whole watch just looks so soft and neutered to me I can't put it into words.

Re-evaluating:
Timex makes safe watches that are supposed to be used as budget alternative to looking at your phone and maybe "class"(ugh) your outfit a little bit.
I don't see any of their watches projecting anything or adding anything to an outfit.
That's why I told you that it might as well not exist/be worn at all.

>We're on a fashion board though.
And? Maybe the terminology you are using isn't expressing your ideas perfectly, but when one typically talks about projecting, they usually mean it in a projecting status way. That has nothing to do with fashion as a core subject, and in my personal opinion is a rather narrow view of the subject.

Your whole safe watches thing makes me wonder what kind of watch you typically like. It seems like you need something over the top, and almost cliche to draw your attention and you cannot see the beauty in simplicity, which is rather sad.

As far as watch-watches, yes. Timex makes watches, most respected watch makers make watches, they don't make jewelry in the shape of watches and the companies that do are typically not very respected.

As far as adding something to an outfit, they definitely do that just as well as some of their more expensive counterparts.

I recently copped this, I'm just looking for a good NATO strap.

The watch is:
>Raketa Copernicus (Copernic / Kopernik)
>Mechanical Movement

I love the sun and moon motif created by the round dials--an "eclipse" occurs every hour.

>>6198631
I am so jelly. Been eyeing the Kopernik model for a while. How much and where? Also, I couldn't find any info about this anywhere around the internet: is the case (not the caseback) stainless steel or base metal?

from the watchuseek.com buy/sell forum

I believe the case is made of base metal, and the caseback is stainless steel.

This is obviously a fragile little watch that needs some TLC. I obviously wouldn't wear this in the rain or wash my hands with this on.

Oh yeah, it was $65 from a guy in Bulgaria.

These have a price range of $50 to $70. Some mint pieces are usually seen for $100 to $140.

It should be noted that these watches use the pedestrian (yet reliable) Russian 2609 movement. As a plus, many Copernics have the 2609НП movement, which is even better, because of better balance construction. If you're gonna buy one of these, look for this particular movement.
