honestly I think there's some truth to this

most people don't take care of themselves at all

also, confidence is really huge. if you look confident it can overshadow a bad facial feature or two. some of the most attractive people i know aren't the most physically perfect people i know, and that goes for a lot of the well liked social butterflies that i know. along with taking care of yourself to the best of your ability, a confident outgoing presence can go a long way.

i'd argue that make up isn't even necessary, tho, if you're sleeping well, eating well, exercising and going outside you should find that your skin gets a nice even tone to it as long as you're lucky enough not to have severe acne or rosacea or something

obvs that won't magically make your eyelashes darker or anything but I've never felt the need to use makeup and I don't feel as though it's effecting my looks too badly

i remember having this conversation with a girl in the year above me about this professor of ours, he's quite chubby and short, pretty unattractive. my friend was like, if i had to date any professor i'd date him, and i was like, na i'd date the tall french professor.
