to be honest the online menswear stuff is really basic and beautiful and really high quality but it's too simple. the design value doesn't justify the pricing. and i haven't forgiven hedi for fall 2013 yet.

acne and common project are high quality and high price but at a point where it's reasonably within touch. saint laurent is just ludicrous, and besides, who goes to SL to buy basics? as for the quality, i'm sure it's high and on par with any classic parisian house, but it's still overpriced as helllllll.

sorry i didn't read too well i was just talking about in general with the jeans/t shirt/high end topman BS that saint laurent is going in.

as for a cotton shirt i mean yeah it's a worthwhile investment definitely and it doesn't look too bad once i think about it more

APC has good basics that fall at a lower price point (150 eu for a dress shirt)

BLK DNM is also good for hi quality basics (although not sure how they stand on suiting stuff because they mostly do leather/denim/streetwear) and rag&bone is another name that comes into mind when thinking about a "cool kid" high-mid price range
