is this a good cologne for a cologne newbie to buy?

i'm on a tight budget and i want a fairly basic thing to wear to uni and stuff, but i really only want to buy one, or maybe two. so should i???

also, does anyone else really really love it when girls say that you smell nice, i know i do. or when they're like, 'someone smells amazing' and inwardly you know it's you and you're like 'awwwww yis'

yeah now you'll smell like everybody else, errbody got that shit. But it's cheap and it smells pretty nice, they came out with a new Acqua di Gio it's supposedly more oil based than this one. Google it, the bottle looks more transparent than this one which is foggy looking.

Subjective aside, I'll recommend you to get something else OP.

Olfactory memory is very, very strong. One in three boys wear this, this means you're very likely to remind other people of people someone else who has worn it. This means you may very well sscare away a potential gf by reminding her of her old bf ;_;

Get something a bit more obscure.

I was into Nautica Voyage for some time. Decided to change it and landed on Acqua di Gio. Thinking of something different. Have some Armani Code, but I'm already tired of it. I wish I could recreate the love affair I had with Voyage. It was light, fresh, and airy with a hint of sweetness.

Anybody got any recommendations?

i plan on going to a place in san fransisco in a few days and checking out some DS and durga colognes. they look promising and the cowboy grass one is getting some notice atm (i emailed them to make sure the store i'm stopping at stocks it, as there's only couple suppliers in each state and fuck if i'm going to be cologne i've never smelled). i'll be sure to report back how they are if i see another cologne thread sometime in the future. i'm in high hopes because they fit my rough style.

Azzaro pour homme is a great scent wich doesn't cost a lot and is going to stand out against all the rest cause it is not just aqua di gio.

Also try most of the Guerlain fragrances some of them are absolutely unforgettable.
