Help /fa/ i'm freaking out

I can't fucking do spring or summer clothes. I'm fine in cold weather, I can put together an outfit pretty well, But it's getting hotter and idk what to do. Anything i try to pair with shorts looks like shit. I want to be doing this youthful summery tumblrey indiekid style instead of the dadcore i wore all f/w but it's just not working and i have to wear jeans everyday. I have a pair of topsiders from last summer but i realized they look like shit or at least look like shit with all my clothes.

Should i cop some vans? Are they still good all around summer shoes? What else should I do to achieve indiekid summer style? I'm poor btw.
