Is it acceptable/normal to take pictures of what you want your hair like or is that just something
people say because they don't really know what the fuck they're talking about? The only
pictures of the hair I want are all windswept and messy. What do?

Before anyone says get it all cut off, I *really* don't suit short hair. My neck is quite long and it long hair compliments it.

In general, I agree about men with long hair. I think mine is an exception because I actually look after it and I'm not a faggot about it. This is the first time I've ever wanted to get it messed with in the entire time I've had it.

A hairdresser will apply initiative to something like this though, right? For example if I don't want it quite as short as the picture I take but with the same basic structure, she/he can work around that?

Also what kind of pictures are good? I'd imagine different angles....But since the one I want to achieve is so messy in all the pictures I find, would that be a problem? Would my original image be okay?

You don't need to cut it short, just cut it shorter. I think shoulder length is an acceptable length for males. Take the pic of Aragorn if you want the layered bits at the front.

if they are good they can reccomend you products to obtain that sort of texture if thats what you want

Ask for subtle layering. But the result will also depend greatly on what type of hairdresser you're going to. Do not ask for this at a barber, or a male only salon. Chances are they won't really know how to cut it.
