I mean they're basics, but they have nothing to make them unique or anything. Like, you can tell when a t-shirt is Rick Owens just by looking at it. The delicate fabrics, the way it drapes, the back seam (although that's not exclusive, but his are usually distinguishable from other brands) are all unique to Rick.

I'm sure that no one is actively looking for something simple and bland-- rather, they are trying to emulate a style they admire yet can't afford the price point so they go to the next best thing.

i did one like that, however it looks like shit unless you make the inside t shirt into a facing and its a few inches smaller than the outer t shirt, otherwise you get this gross bulk at the hem, this one i joined at the armholes, which looks pretty cool imo

armhole seams, but you can do it almost anywhere on a t shirt, you can sew the necks together which can be really cool if you make a big funnel neck or the bottom hem like twerk said, or just at the shoulder seams, etc.

just use any tee shirt pattern you want
