Why do you guys like this shit? It seems like more of a niche fashion. Most people wouldn't like it.

>> No.5951038

why does everyone think that everyone here likes intense gothninja??

I can't see anything, so I can't like/dislike anything. I'm not a huge fan of the proportions, but really, it's hard to say anything.

Fashion isn't about making other people like you, its about being satisfied with the way you look. I don't like gothninja, but it doesn't matter to them what I think.

>> No.5953988

If goth-ninja is a niche fashion, why can people here not fit into that niche? I personally refuse to buy any rick past 2011 but that might just be the hipster in me.

>> No.5953997

the point of fashion is individuality lol
so I guess everything is a "niche" fashion

You guys ready need to stop categorizing every black piece of avant-garde clothing as "gothninja".

what's avant-garde clothing exactly other than not being traditional?

ahead of its time, creating a modern look for everyone else to follow.

how do we know that it is going to be ahead if it's time? is everyone in 50 years going to dress all black and look like a ninja? how do you know that already?

>> No.5954094

>>5954057
it's really just anything that goes against traditional values now

a meaningless phrase that gets thrown around at everything

>> No.5954108

>>5954081

the black is for experimentation of silhouettes and a focus on patternmaking and construction because it removes the other variables of design. purely form.

so no, im sure in 50 years people will dress in lots of different colors the same way we always have.

and you know something is ahead of its time when the pioneers of the design are creating something that hasnt been seen before on any large scale.

no i dont disagree, lots of designers that are "avant garde" use color constantly.

I was just explaining the advantage of black from a design perspective, and why a lot of designers use it a lot when theyre first starting.

its much easier to sort out the shape of what youre making, and then add color after the construction, fit, and silhouette has been ironed out.

What are the main reasons people choose to goof ninja other than they like the aesthetics? In terms of philosophies, I have heard that black is like "Don't bother me and I won't bother you", which I believe Yohji said.

Are their any other sources for the inspiration behind this style? I am trying to understand it because I like the appearance but don't fully get where the dedication to the aesthetic is from.

>> No.5954233

goth ninja isn't an aesthetic. it's a joke someone made on styleforum in 2008.

>> No.5954235

i buy grayscale everything because all my clothes match easier and it lets me pair a lot more items together than if I had 10 gazillion different colors lol
like someone said above it eliminates certain factors in order to focus on the silhouette

>> No.5954252

this gothninja meme on /fa is funny 'cause they bash smart casual / preppy clothing as "dadcore" yet I have never seen a decent IRL photo of someone applying gothninja. they constantly post photos from dick ovens or professional models and stuff.

for me, it is a fascination with the shape of the garments. i think about clothing all the time, its my life, so i enjoy the look of things that make me think.

to me its quite boring when someones outfit is obvious. ive seen that before, it was dull a long time ago.

i think a major source of inspiration is religious figures. monks, priests, spiritual costumes, messianic figures are drawn on very often for yohji, rick, cdg etc
