I see all the rich kids wear this overpriced shit on instagram.

>fa or not?

>> No.5923650

Why did Pyrex decide to start making a clothing line suddenly?

Why is it overpriced brand-purchase?

Why does it actually sell?

My personal opinions of the hoodie aside, any piece of clothing has the potential to look good. Fuck what /fa/ says. If you like something, buy it. Don't let some random fashion board on an anime site dictate your aesthetic.

It's kind of hilarious, now that I think about it. If we accept as fact that He's basically buying up cheap hoodies and flipping them into a profit with minimal time and effort, he's pretty much evoking a model of the crack game as applied to the fashion world.

Pyrex, of course, being noteworthy name mostly to people cooking crack. You've got to boil water around a Pyrex jar or measuring cup that's got your cocaine/water/bicarbonate slurry. You've got to use Pyrex or the glass will explode and you'll find yourself shit out of luck.
A kilo of coke converted to crack and sold on the street will make you far more than the same amount of cocaine sold in powder form.
Same goes for Champion hoodies, apparently.

you cant get the flannels anymore.

Virgil purchased all the flannels from Rugby when they were getting rid of everything as they were closing then printed pyrex 23 on them

as for the hoodies you wont find unless youre on ebay or hypebeast

We'd be hard pressed to make a dent in anything without the sort of connects that someone like Virgil Abloh has at his disposal.
This is the sort of network that can take decades to build. It appears easy, because in terms of concept it's very simple... But when you look at the success of something like pyrex you're also looking at the result of a very long resume.
He probably had to work a lot of rooms in order to get here. There was also a certain amount of rather prescient timing at play, in order for him to have released the brand when he did.
