It's very good. Doesn't smell like yet another generic aquatic, the woody, leathery, aquatic combo is nice and wearable all year round.

Can you please recommend something with a similar scent profile to Ecrin de Fume? Not really a similar fragrance per se but something that does smoky/incesy tobacco without getting too sweet? I like cocoa or dark chocloate as far as minimal sweetness goes but there aren't that many fragrances with those notes, much less mixed with tobacco or incense.

Incense anon from two threads ago. I just made a fresh refill of my boswella sacra EO roll on and yeah, there's nothing that really beats this in the "fine fragrance" space as far as incense themed fragrances. I'm going to try a CO2 extract of somalian frankincense next, CO2 has a lot more staying power than standard essential oils. I have a Myrrh CO2 that lasts longer than most EDPs I have lol

Would really still like to find a sprayable perfume that comes close though. Full Incense is too woody and has other spices and florals. Olibanum. Sacra is too musky. I did not like Midnight Oud (the amouage clone) at all, nor did I like Serge Lutens Ambree Sultan (more of an amber than an incense but still broadly in the "resinous" category). I do love Yatagan and Kouros but don't consider them fully incense fragrances.

Anon who recommended Sancti can you please describe it more? Natural boswellia sacra does have a citrusy and piney component to it.

Yeah, I don’t think that it’s that interesting of a fragrance as whole, but when you compare it to other popular same-priced sweet men’s fragrances, it’s obviously of much higher quality and avoids nasty synthetic tones. Look. I just bought picrel: 275ml, less than 70 eurobucks. It will last me around 2 years.
I've owned more than 50 bottles, some of them costing 200 bucks for 50ml and this generic blue still gets me more compliments than any Guerlain or Caron, or even mainstream "niche" like Aventus.
The cheap Polo smells nice and clean and woman of my age (I'm 32) fucking love it. Don't overthink fragrances.

Yeah I recently tested the EDT of H24 and I noticed that too. I wonder if that is the Sclarene since I have no idea what that is or what it smells like. The Herbes Vives version of H24 doesn't have that. I also ended up buying the Herbes Vives version and really like it, though the bright green fresh scent goes away after an hour or two and there isn't much of a mid or base note left. Still really love it though as a fresh hot weather fragrance.

I don’t get why Allure Homme Eau Extreme seems so unlikable to me despite the fact that it mostly has notes I generally like. Mandarin orange? Love it. Mint? Love it too. Tonka? Alright, I guess. Sandalwood and musk at base? Nice.

But somehow it just feels nasty every time I try it, and I’ve tried it many times. Probably the only Chanel fragrance I’ve ever actually disliked, usually even their worst releases are alright, just not buy worthy.

The EdP has the same thing but it’s even stronger, and both frags have sclarene, narcissus, and clary sage, so it may be an accord made from the combination of the three.

And yeah, I had the same experience with Herbes Vives. Sweet minty green on the opening, evolves into a pleasant minty/green pear scent, but after about 2-3 hours I just get this waxy scent and nothing else.

It’s interesting but doesn’t merit a purchase for me.

Yeah I think that is probably the case for most people, but I have nothing else like it and I love the scent. It is so refreshing to put on it feels like walking into a pleasant garden. Any day I wear it I wind up applying it like 4 times if I have access to the bottle, but I'm fine with that, since I still rotate through my other fragrances so it the bottle should still last a few years.

The only essential Creed for me is GIT, the rest are not really worth it. However, Viking is a good scent and often underrated by creedfags. So is Bois du portugal.
I also like Original santal, but it's hilariously overpriced if you consider that you can get a better quality, more interesting sandalwood scent for way cheaper (SL Santal majuscule). SMW is good. VIW is undeserving of the hate it gets, it's a better tropical scent than Aventus.
Creed's problem is the same as TF's in that they have good frags overall but the prices are unjustifiable. Royal oud for example would be excellent if it was in the same price range as the average Chanel or Dior, but at 400 bucks? lmao
