It's a Seiko Weekdater, you can get them from around 200-800$. There are many versions of it, this one is the 6206-8990, i would recommend the 6218-8971.

And he said there is simply no better place to live. QoL to Cost of living is probably the best in the world. So yeah, if you're serious about it, check out Thailand. It depends on the watch. Some companies actually test each individual watch so if they say X meters of water resistance, that’s actually how deep it can go before water gets in the case.
Other companies actually test to 125% of stated WR to give you a buffer.
Cheaper companies might just test 1 out of every 10 watches.

But to your point, 100m WR means that the watch is designed to withstand water pressure equal to that of 100m depth

100m water resistance is actually supposed to 100m water resistance. The watches are tested in vacuum chambers. Assuming the watch has been around a while and the seals have dried up, the water resistance could be lessened significantly. Stuff like screw down crown and caseback help the WR rating.

That would be a decent choice, but FC watches also tend to be pretty large. A 40mm watch with an open, white dial and a thin bezel will look like a dinner plate.
That might not be a bad thing depending on your wrist size but it’s important to try before you buy.

Other brands that you might want to consider are Longines, Nomos, Baume & Mercier. Even Tissot might have something you might like.

Also look into gray market and/or preowned. There are good deals out there since dress watches depreciate like crazy.

You don't buy a Tudor for the dial or the finishing overall. You can't compare it to a GS objectively. Just like nobody buys a Rolex for its movement finishing or decoration.
