What do my fellow /fa/tards write with when you aren't wageslaving or doomscrolling this shithole?

This is my Pen collection. I have been using fountain pens for about a decade now, since I was 13. The Montblanc Le Grand was a gift from my father.

My favorite inks are Montblanc Royal Blue, Pelikan Edelstein Jade and Platinum Forest Black

Bought this because I only like pilot converters and very fine flex nibs. I just wish it was transparent so I could see how much ink is left because it's plasticky and cheap anyway.

I use the CON-70. I've heard no complaints about it other than relative difficulty fully cleaning it if you switch ink frequently, which I don't do. I have no complaints. It's very easy to fill and relatively high capacity.

Pilot makes a couple different ones. Neither are particularly great or bad. The only converters that I know of are Sailor’s. They are fragile, fit badly, and have a minuscule ink capacity.

its the only fountain pen i own, i dont collect but i love montblancs and pilots, am just too poor to actually live it as a hobby but i am considering buying a Lamy Safari just to fuck around with certain inks down the line but for now im perfectly content with this one.

That’s the thing, though. A cheap pen with a good nib is always going to be what you pick to write with over a super-lux pen with a poor nib.

Modern Montblancs, for example, write like crap. (Vintage ones are sweet, though.)

The Platinum Century is one of the best deals around. The nibs are identical to what goes into 1000 dollar Nakaya pens.

These are unironically sick. The 0.7 has such a heavy ink flow and it’s so satisfying to doodle with. The 0.5 is shit though. Also, with either width I’ve noticed they can get fucked up if you’re not writing on a pad of paper but directly on your desk with only 1 sheet of paper.

The so-called ‘psychotically depressed’ person who tries to kill herself doesn’t do so out of quote ‘hopelessness’ or any abstract conviction that life’s assets and debits do not square. And surely not because death seems suddenly appealing. The person in whom Its invisible agony reaches a certain unendurable level will kill herself the same way a trapped person will eventually jump from the window of a burning high-rise. Make no mistake about people who leap from burning windows. Their terror of falling from a great height is still just as great as it would be for you or me standing speculatively at the same window just checking out the view; i.e. the fear of falling remains a constant. The variable here is the other terror, the fire’s flames: when the flames get close enough, falling to death becomes the slightly less terrible of two terrors. It’s not desiring the fall; it’s terror of the flames. And yet nobody down on the sidewalk, looking up and yelling ‘Don’t!’ and ‘Hang on!’, can understand the jump. Not really. You’d have to have personally been trapped and felt flames to really understand a terror way beyond falling.
