This men's dress watch is equipped with an ultra-thin movement with a thickness of 1.98 mm. The case form, which combines the curved surface typical of 18K and the distortion-free mirror surface of craftsmanship, symbolizes the dignity of the owner and has a beautiful finish suitable for a luxury product. The center of the dial has a clean stripe pattern, and the outer periphery has a glossy finish, making it simple but high-quality. To match the classic case, leaf-shaped temper hands are used to achieve both elegance and legibility.

A new collection with the theme of "the gradual flow of time" that does not change forever is now available. "Quon" is derived from "eternity" and refers to the endless flow of time from the past to the future. Quon was born with the aim of making a watch that allows you to feel the "gradual flow of time" that does not change over the years. Following the "beautiful design with a sense of unity that smoothly connects the case and bracelet" that Credor has inherited for many years, the "gradual flow of time" is expressed by the taut curved shape from the side of the case to the tip. Since the bracelet is attached directly to the case, there is no rattling around the foot, and it has both a "beautiful form" and "high wearability". In addition, the bracelet has a smooth curved surface in contact with the arm to achieve a "comfortable wearing comfort".

"Wisdom II" It was launched in 2014 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the brand's birth and the 15th anniversary of the launch of Seiko's unique drive mechanism, the Spring Drive, which uses an IC and a quartz crystal to precisely control the accuracy while being powered by the power of unwinding the mainspring in the same way as a mechanical watch. As a fusion of the advanced skills and advanced technology that Credor has cultivated over many years, and the delicate beauty that appeals to the sensibilities of Japan, the "wisdom" released in 2008 has evolved even more beautifully.

Inheriting the simple style of "wisdom" and embodying "ultimate simplicity" aiming for further evolution Outstanding craftsmen polish the movement parts by hand to pursue a timeless brilliance and beauty, while at the same time improving basic functions such as durability and operability. This model is a special model created by the outstanding skills of the Micro Artist Workshop of Seiko Epson Corporation's Shiojiri Plant. By placing the power reserve display, which displays the remaining amount of the mainspring, on the back side instead of the dial, the dial has a simple expression with only three hands: the hour, minute, and second hands. The movement has a simple yet dynamic finish with a balanced power reserve indication on a two-piece "receiver" part. In addition, the outline of the "receiver" and the chamfer around the ruby and screw holes are hand-finished by craftsmen in a curved shape so that they shine beautifully from all angles. The contrast of the streak finish on the entire surface of the "receiver" makes the polished mirror part and the temper blue screws shine, expressing the polished beauty.

The seven bends to the right, whereas five, while also bending to the right, is more plump and leaves less empty space. This creates asymmetry from the centre and asymmetry from the small seconds circle. The circle can not lap the seven and the five at the same time. It's an evergreen problem with Breguet numerals and each brand has tried different solutions to fix it. I think Longines did something really smart and light-hearted this time. The wabi-sabi feel of certain dials is something that luxury brands have always played with, as is the case with Rolex, if you are familiar with their vintage pieces.

People with retail knowledge. Why do brand boutiques refuse haggling as oppose to say ADs?

>> No.18028179

>>18028169
Boutiques are stricter with pricing because it's a matter of image, policy, and perception. Boutiques directly owned by the company need to make sure transactions are in line with what the company is advertising IE if the watch costs $6250 on the website it should cost $6250 in the store.

ADs on the other hand are more independent and have more free reign over how they do business, so some of them are more okay with haggling on price.

tldr ADs are independent and boutiques arent

>> No.18028182

>>18028169
ADs buy their watches wholesale and can sell them for whatever they want (with pricing guidance from the brands)
They need to sell the watches to pay off their inventory costs. They will also offer deep discounts to attempt to clear out slow sellers. (Watchmakers do not like this, obviously, because it demonstrates that the product’s RRP is way too high)

Boutiques are owned buy the watchmakers. They don’t have to haggle because they’re not worried about having to pay off inventory costs. The watchmakers simply give them the watches and tell them the price to ask.

You're simply talking out of your ass. It's an aesthetic choice, whether to cut or not to cut the numerals. There is no objective correct solution here. Some people hate the small seconds circle that leaves the foot of the six visible, some people love it and autistically search vintage watches with that feature. And the Breguet Grand Feu plays on that choice by stretching the top of the six right into the circle. It's not cut, but it is indeed overlapped. Some people might find it ugly.

I have an average wrist, so my ideal size remains 35-39 mm. However I've been fantasizing a lot about adding a ladies watch to my collection, mostly for the sake of variety and originality. Of course I mean a watch that doesn't look too feminine (no diamonds etc.) and could be mistaken for a men's watch except for the case size. Longines has some beautiful ladies watches that look neutral/unisex. They're also exceptionally cheap compared to men's models. However I agree that 25 mm is too small. It's really hard to find what I'm looking for.

I'm turning 30 this year and would like to buy myself a nice watch to commemorate the occasion. What do you recommend? Rolex is out of my price range unless I get one that is used and a model that isn't very sought after. I think I'll wait until 40 or 50 to buy one of those.

I'm thinking I want something around 4 or 5 thousand dollars. Something that is nice and I can be proud to wear, but not more expensive than my car.

What do you suggest?

I guess that's one way to open a caseback if you don't have a tool. It would take a bit of grinding and polishing to make it look right afterwards. Usually a rubber ball works fine for removing screwdown casebacks, but maybe if it was seized down really bad this would work.

Did you use JB Weld to secure the bolt? I wouldn't want to do any hot welding and risk damaging the internals

>> No.18029077

>>18029056
nah just superglue, idea being if you get the caseback off you just drop it in acetone to burn off the nut and all traces of the glue

yeah it's seized, this is last resort, I think there is a last last resort of some kind where people put some sort of fluid in the caseback seam but I haven't needed to do that yet, sounds super sketchy

see if it works in a few hours

What I hated about it:
The case is way too long and slim. It always felt awkward on my wrist.
The Duoface is a cool idea on paper but the black dial is really ugly. Never used it. Also I find it a bit stupid to have a white and a black dial on the same watch. Good luck finding a strap that matches both faces.
I did consider buying the monoface version after a few weeks but realized I didn't care for it. It's the idea of the Duoface that I liked.
Also it's hard to put words on it, but the Reverso has that "douchebag watch enthusiast" vibe that annoys me. Reverso fans simply can't talk about it without saying how it's so much better than the Tank, and frankly I don't want to be in that club.

I’ve never encountered people like that. Most of the people I know who like one like them both. If anything they differ between considering the steel Reverso a dress watch or a sports/casual watch.

I’m with you on the Duoface thing being silly. It sounds better on paper.
