I want a casual boot.

I own TLB dress shoes and they fit me very well. They are also extremely well made, basically no complaints.

TLB has a new last (pic related) for more casual shoes. They do storm welts. They do Vibram Gumlite commando sole.
But it's still a dress shoe brand at heart. I own their shoes, they are lightweight and the leathers are pretty thin. They crease very well anyway but it's far from heavy duty boot stuff.

What do you guys think? Worth a try given I know they will fit me well or just buy something more established like C&J?

>> No.17973219

I just wear boots most of the year and almost always for work. This is the first time that I bought expensive ones. They’re more comfortable than my old boots and I plan on resoling when the time comes.
>>17973209
What made you decide to buy new ones instead of not use any at all? I’m on the fence about buying some for my boots. For my 350cs I’m leaning less because I have low volume feet and could probably use them to fill in that extra space.

Another thing is I have wide feet.
With TLB I usually go G width and it's fine with thin socks, I've tried wool socks and it's a little tight so I can just go H width on the boots.

With other brands like C&J it's all normal widths,
At least Whites offers EE width on their website, that's why I considered it.

Cheaney also has G widths but their only non-chelsea, non-chukka boot in G width is this one.
It's pretty cool, veldtschoen construction too, but I already own burgundy boots.

two reasons, i like the way kilties look, and smoke jumpers look kinda silly without them. also, the whites kilties don't go all the way up the tongue, which i thought was kind of strange.

the rose anvil ones are thin enough that they dont add much thickness, but also reach the top of the shaft for full coverage of the tongue.

I'm still thinking about these boots.

I used to own Vibergs on 2030 last (size 10) and they were tight and narrow. Length wise was just a little tight. Also dainite sole which sucks with heavy boots (no cushy)
These are on 1035 last, supposedly a little wider, and I'd go 10.5 size. Also ridgeway sole.

But I don't know if that's enough to fix the fit for me.

nick from straightgays in this video is mostly just frustrated about the state of his channel, his lackluster view counts and he thinks that's due to "gatekeeping" in the "community"
he knows that the videos that get the most views are the complete beginner retard top 10 boot lists that he just can't keep reuploading forever and his "high effort" videos don't get views, like his shitty indonesian boot making trip he constantly mentions in everything
the "algorythm" or whatever isn't pushing his videos to new impressionable college kids looking for their first purchase anymore and if they stumble onto his vids they are scared off by the ever-increasing price tags
yet he's convinced that what really scares them off is the "hardcore community" in his comments arguing about "irrelevant details", because they are out of touch with what regular consumers are looking for
he says in the video that people that buy $500+ boots don't go back to buying $200 boots and he's right, he's also right that beginners don't jump onto $500 and having the mold to your foot isn't reason enough to buy them over
in reality he is the one out of touch thinking he can bridge the gap somehow and convince people foam shit made in mexico is high quality and everyone should accept that unless they are a "boot snob"

honestly most of his videos are absolutely ruined by him trying to shoehorn in some top 5 segment
it's absolutely laughable when he does interviews and gets pissy with the industry guy for not giving him an easy bullet point pros and cons anwser on everything
also the other guy he tries to force into his videos now is an even bigger passive agressive cuck and even if he's not wrong about this hobby being "cargo cult masculinity" i can't fault anyone for calling them hisper faggot retards in the comments

Anon these are cool.
They've definitely been worn but the sole is brand new so probably sold them after the first resole without ever wearing them.
But they do not look worn enough to warrant a resole (not even close) so I wonder what happened.

By the rolls and creasing on the vamp I would estimate these were worn around 20-30 times at most.

I bought my first pair of chukkas just recently.

It's a cool type of shoe, I'll probably buy a dark one next winter. Probably best to be suede because it's a long uninterrupted piece of leather and it makes me think creasing will be a challenge otherwise.

I also want to try a chelsea so might skip the second chukka and get a dark brown suede chelsea next fall
