He says this way the sole stitching will last basically forever, and honestly Dainite itself is kinda indestructible.

I avoid Dainite like the plague but the few shoes I have with dainite had the stitching directly on the sole and I can already see some fraying. I mean it's a flat sole, you're walking on the stitches.

This is easily fixed with a neutral wax or a conditioner which you should apply anyway.
