>non-functional screws on the bracelet
>proprietary endlink system (no reasons for it, they could have just used spring bars)

Cartier has never made a good looking sports watch. It's a dress watch brand. Buying a Cartier sports watch is as stupid as buying a Cifonelli windbreaker.

Every time I see someone wearing a Speedmaster I just laugh a little bit.

I don't think the watch looks bad or anything, it's just that I wouldn't want to wear a watch heavily associated with a historical event, that is subject to reasonable doubt.

Before Speedyfags sperg out, I'll just say that I have no idea if the moon landing was faked or not. All I know is many people believe it was staged for political reasons (at a time where the internet didn't exist), which doesn't sound completely crazy to me.

It would be like wearing a watch associated with the covid-19 vaccine. I wouldn't want that.

The only reps that have ever truly been 1:1 were those early Panerai like the 111 and 112. To the point where Panerai themselves couldn't tell the difference and kept posting pictures of reps on their official instagram. But those were also extremely simple watches.

Why do these Japanese brands still enjoy such a high reputation? For example, the """"legendary""" SARB line consists of something like 100 shitty watches that are all forgotten except for 3 models.
If I assembled watch parts at random tens of thousands of times, and handful of good models might come out by pure chance. Would that make me a good watch manufacturer?

Seiko is still coasting on its reputation as delivering mediocre, collectible watches at rock bottom prices.
Their prices have climbed but the quality hasn't.

My first gen Orange Monster was a great watch. Cheap as chips, but it was tough and had great lume. I beat the shit out of it without a care. But if I'm paying 1000+ for a watch that still isn't that accurate, still has a mineral glass crystal? That's theft.

Part of the reason Grand Seiko is so regarded is because
>It's a Seiko...but it's well-made!!! WHAAAATTTT???!!
Whereas with any other brand in GS's price range, that level of quality is not a selling point, it's a disqualifier if it's not present.

For anything high tier like GS, Rolex, JLC VC and so going to chrono24. Your best bet is buying from based Japanese sellers.

But they don't.

In all Rolex collateral materials up until today, they point out that the leader of the 1953 British Expedition, Sir John Hunt and his team were equipped with Rolex Oyster Perpetual models, but Rolex has never claimed that Sir Edmund Hillary, or Tenzing Norgay were wearing Rolex watches when they summited Everest.

The myth comes from a 2003 ad for a modern Explorer 14270 that had a pic of Hillary summitting Everest, but nowhere in the ad does it claim that a Rolex was worn at the top of Everest. It's just Rolex fanboys getting overexcited.

Because it's not a watch, it's an extension of your phone on your wrist. So if you are that lazy of a cunt, instead of reaching inside your pocket to get your phone, you get to tap on your wrist like an actual monkey. Oh, answering calls is easier with a watch? So it is reaching into your pocket, weeb.

General longevity and serviceability of an Apple Watch is dog shit.
Once the battery starts to go, and holds fuck all charge, you can in general toss them into the fuck it bucket. You can't easily take them apart or get them easily serviced outside Apple.

It's either being fucked in the ass by apple """genius""" bar and having to shell out top dollar for a cheap fix a 3rd party repair shop could do.

But with so many Apple products having hardware and software locks and parts linked to the same device they come from, I doubt servicing an apple watch is even worth it for anyone.

Rolex? There are many reasons to hate Rolex. Main reasons people are mad at them is wait times. Having to be put on a list for a watch you really want and wait pisses people off. Mostly because people with enough expendable income can throw money at the AD and get their shit faster. I don't myself hate Rolex. Their ADs sure, but there are quite a few kino Rolex watches I'd like to own before I die.
