I know the guys here are going to say women don’t like the scent, they like the man attached to the scent. Anyone with a brain knows this but we all know that there are certain scents and hate others due to association. So my question is as follows:

>What fragrances is too common among men? List all that you can think of

>What fragrances have you had success with that wasn’t because of your looks/game? Also list the ethnicity of the girl if applicable/if you know

>Lastly, more of a personal question from me. Don’t you think Gourmands should be a good idea since the girl would theoretically want to eat you up?

We really need a Bateman of fragrances

I get that it's a pleasant smell when you're just walking past a guy but I really can't fathom how, as a woman, you'd not get sick of that if you had to spend a longer amount of time with someone. And desu that goes for all vanilla, tonka, amber gourmands and whatnot

Similar to me, it reminds me of the 90s, first crush, dopest video games, dope music, trading pokemon cards with friends, life was easy. Also my parents used to bath me with pine essence bubble bath, Drakkar Noir give me immense nostalgia about these days. It's the best fougere DNA ever created.

>What fragrances is too common among men? List all that you can think of
Unironically Dior Sauvage EDT. I have smelled it on quite a few Mexicans and Indians. I have also smelled Cool Water on a lot of Mexicans and Acqua Di Gio Profondo on a lot of Indians too.

>What fragrances have you had success with that wasn’t because of your looks/game? Also list the ethnicity of the girl if applicable/if you know
- Dior Sauvage Elixer. She was a white hit or light skin mixed Mexican girl. Randomly approached me in Daiso when she was with her brother or something and said I smelled nice.
- YSL LNDH. Multiple Chinese international students have complimented me on it, but usually when we are already on the couch/in the car together. Not sure if that’s due to weak projection or the girls being too shy to say it before we are more familiar with each other.
- Platinum Egoiste. Chinese international students again. A girl told me I smelled good from like 4-6 feet away, but if the frag is projecting that much it seems like a problem. I still wear it anyway.
- YSL Y EDP. A group of acquaintances (all male) said something smelled good when I was the only one wearing a frag at the time. I didn’t want to claim it because I didn’t like the idea of such a middle of the mall blind buy I got online to get credit.

>Lastly, more of a personal question from me. Don’t you think Gourmands should be a good idea since the girl would theoretically want to eat you up?
I personally just don’t like Gourmands. They usually make me feel sick after a while, even for women who wear gourmands.

I remember bringing the sample set to drill (army reserve) and somehow it got on something in the room and all the males (including myself) thought it was extremely disgusting and sickening smelling. I don’t remember which one it was.

However, the only female in our detachment came in like 15 minutes later not knowing what I did and was saying how something smelled really good in the room. We were all dumbfounded because it was so smelly and stinky that we eventually all left the room to let it air out and she stayed inside.

I have t even finished sampling the other frags in the kit since then.

I have no idea why you faggots were recommending this shit without caveats. Firstly its a fragrance worn when dressed up. Secondly it has an old gentlemanly air to it. This isn't an everyday scent, unless your walking around in a suit all day, even then its not as good as some other scents. Suits age 30+ and smells barbershop vintage. Yes I blind bought this and I fell for the meme, the last blind buy I ever do and this is only because I could not get a tester.

Unfortunately there's no real mainstream accurate petrichor scents - so for mainstream options we're mostly left with 'interpretations' - of which Baie 19 is my favourite.

I always imagine that it's the kind of scent emo/alt or quiet, reserved and nerdy girls might enjoy - people who are drawn to more alternative stuff. In all honesty it comes down to an individual's attractiveness I'd say. F1 driver Dan Ricciardo wears Baie 19 and I imagine every woman who smells him reckons its amazing - whereas spritz a NEET and watch the girls gag.

Drakkar screams “hold my beer, I wanna be exquisite”.

What do people think of Habit Rouge?

I hated it at first. I went in a 2nd time, hoping to understand it. Hated it. That was a few months ago.

Recently I've been looking for a "fresh" citrus for dressed up summer events. I've been trying a lot of Dior, particularly Eau Sauvage Parfum.

As much as I want to like ESP, it feels too much for summer. Like citrus cake.

Eau Sauvage EDT is gone in literally an hour. I prefer Pour Monsieur, but its similarly quite weak.

I try Habit Rouge again, and I love it. I don't understand how I've acclimated to it, the first few times around it actually made me nauseous, even though I love Guerlain and wanted to like it (I finished a full bottle of Vetiver). I think perhaps I just wasn't prepared for the powderiness.

Just now I found a pre-pandemic (tall bottle, wooden cap) HR EDT for $70 aud and copped it blindly.

Is it too much for summer? For the office?

Feels like a daytime counterpart to Egoiste in some way.

The next time I pass through duty free I'll grab Antaeus, maybe Fahrenheit too, and I think my small collection will be complete.

1. Unironically Lattafa Khamrah (or maybe Angel's Share, but that's unlikely) and Poop! Homme. I know this sounds weird, but I went to the city the other actively trying to pick up scents on the way, and Poop! Homme was the choice of the old loners drinking beer and catcalling young girls. At least three different guys were wearing it, all of them looking like they are slightly on the decline. I could hardly believe its popularity. Then I went to the upmarket clothing store and suddenly all the guys shopping there for 200$ sneakers wearing Armani sweatpants had Khamrah on. First I was on the escalator behind a couple and I thought it was the girl wearing it, but they split up slightly going off the escalator and it was the guy (had to walk past him). Another guy wearing it in the same store after that and one unidentified person after leaving a crowded tram. Of all the REALLY popular shit you would expect, I only smelled Aventus or a clone once and AdG Profumo once.
2. Turkish girls and Axe Dark Temptation EdT, as well as Bruno Banani Man's Best. I tested them at the drug store and in both cases I got pairs of Turkish girls telling me I smelled great. It's stupid but it seemed to work. Everything else always was a package deal, a fragrance is just a cheap and simple way for a girl to give you a compliment, so you wear one to check for interest.
3. If the Armani sweatpants fellas run around wearing Khamrah, so can you. But it's more important to find a frag that you personally really like.

Guys I feel left out, currently getting into frags for the first time and unsure where to look because everyone recommending things is a decade older than me, I'm 22 and look like this cat. What should I be looking at?
I don't want something too grown up but at the same time I also don't want to smell like her ex so no generic teenage stuff, money is no issue. I like how my post makes it seem I have gone outside in the past 8 months or touched a girl in the past 4 years. Anyway I bought another 13 for my first frag because I liked how the bottle looked and am not sure if I like the smell, I don't pick up on any of the shit people say about it and it just smells like a 30 year old who retired early.
Unil now I've looked at the flow charts, archives and youtube and want to get samples of

Wearing it right now, actually (EdP). Opening? Based. Proper floral rose kick. Heart? Kinda like something out of the the L'Homme Ideal line, especially the EdP, so Thierry Wasser probably snatched half the formula, further confirming that he should have never gotten the job instead of Patricia de Nicolai. Smelled L'Homme Ideal first, and it was just okay, now I know that Habit Rouge does it better. Late base is just a classic Guerlain by JP, with a very recognizable "signature" to it. Also very based that I'm not the only one who thinks that Guerlain, Chanel and Dior alone can easily provide a complete collection.

Yeah, smartass, and you also have to, because the ethanol dries out your skin, dryflakyboi. Aftershaves really have no point other than the alcohol, to "disinfect", which is something you really only need if you suck at both shaving and hygiene. Nowadays they mix in allantoin and panthenol to help the poor sods/dryflakybois who still apply this to "soothe" their skin, as they don't know better. I filled Pinaud Clubman into a spray bottle and wear it as a regular frag, because aftershaves as aftershaves are a fucking meme.

I found the two of them to be pretty similar overall. T&M is a stronger peppery scent, and more linear than R&R. R&R was a little more smokey/earthy/peppery on the opening, and dries down faintly sweetly. Both had mid to poor longevity, and can’t comment on sillage.

As always, sample for yourself and see what you think. Personally I would go for R&R, but I must admit I love T&M’s name.

curve and 4711 with likely be real because they're cheap as fuck anyway. Both smell nice, but the longevity is poor for both; they're been reformulated to death.

Versace is a very basic scent. Watery into woody-ish vanilla. Elixir is strong af, so keep it light and make sure it's real by comparing it to online videos. It's a real target for fakes on ebay. All of the edges of the bottle and cap better be smoothed off or else you know it's a fake immediately.
