I'll know more in February
it takes at least 3 months for them to fix it
I asked them why and they said because they don't have that many qualified people to work on them
Also apparently the superluminiva acts as a sponge if there's not too much water
hopefully I won't be fucked
I know I'm pushing it but it says 100 m in bold letters, sounds like that small print jew shit when it comes to side effects for certain things

It depends entirely on the watch. Anything rated 100m and up is probably good for anything from washing the dishes to the occasional tumble into a body of water, probably safe to swim in but generally not recommended on a regular basis if not necessary. Anything less than that should probably only be trusted with hand washing, even then be careful. With vintage watches don't trust water resistance at all.

At this price range you can't have Tudor level finishing, with the jump in quality that Rolex offers Omega needed to be at the top of their game. If they cannot handle it then they should be punching down at Tudor. At least their finish it better than Grand Seiko and Tudor. Nevermind you need a high quality press for this, IIRC that looks like an Aerospace Titanium. For the stainless the metal is flexible enough where you can just snap the back case on with your fingers. With the titanium you cannot. Sorry about your dad, I bet he would be proud of you for taking such good care of his watch.

But yea you need to send it in or do it at a watch store which is much cheaper but you're also putting the watch at risk. A lot of watch stores, especially ones that sell Breitling tend to charge very little and does it pretty well. You do not need a full overhaul, just a simple battery change. You probably won't even need a new gasket since its only been one year.

Th e C63 is… mediocre. And going away actually, replaced by their own unique design language, CW is coming into their own, with watches like the Twelve(sport), C1(dress) and Bell Canto(high horology). The C63 will soon be the equivalent to the old Rolex pre-Oyster pocket watches. Neat but really not desirable or worth anything.

They’re getting into Nomos territory with their higher pricing though. I think the Twelve is the cheapest COSC watch atm.

I really want some quartz watch with a shitload of functions that has cool motors running the hands and that kind of shit, I almost bought an Edifice a few years ago but I decided against it because it isn't a "real" watch and no one respects Casio anyway.

Really wish I got it, they seem so fun. There's nothing like that in the "real" watch world, the closest that comes to it is Breitling Aerospace which is way too expensive for what it is, and the functions are pretty shitty.

Being a watch snob is the dumbest fucking hobby. It's a meta-hobby; you can't make watches a hobby, because unlike say an art, or musical instrument there’s no ‘practice’ to engage in. It lacks a ‘verb’ to describe the act of engaging in the hobby. The lone thing you can consider a hobby is ‘collecting’, and specifically amassing a thematically aligned collection, like say Speedmasters through the decades. Anything else is just hoarding or confusing the accumulation of jewelry for something significant. Watches are a meta-hobby, in the same way people are now aroused by the idea of porn, more than the porn itself.

I mean, just look at the retarded image I posted. At no point since the 80’s is the Rolex a ‘working man’s daily driver’. That’s just a statement to make trust-funders and kids buying on credit feel good about their purchase.

The “hobby” is an endless parade of grifters, weird old men on YouTube, and young morons tricked into aspirational purchasing, convinced somehow that buying and wearing a specific watch will finally communicate their ‘place in the big leagues’ or communicate ‘who they are’, because they are incapable of communicating that through the actions and life they live.

All of this dumb enough on its own, but then you get the cherry on the shit sundae in which a parade of mountain-jews basically screw you endlessly with poor build quality, expensive servicing and a consumer experience that makes Walmart look class-leading.

It’s a dumb hobby. You’re better off spending time doing anything else other than thinking about watches. Buy a EcoDrive/Oceanus/G-Shock and then if you’re actually rich, buy a Rolex. Anything else is dumb cope unless you’re actually ‘own an estate’ tier wealthy.

The Grand Seiko that I bought is so, SO much better than everything else I own and or ever tried on. I feel like nothing else matters in the watch world and, sadly, the GS hype is real, and not overrated. My tudor feels like a toy in comparison, the others simply "exist" next to it, if that makes sense.

No, Credor is just another sub-brand of Seiko. In terms of market positioning, Credor is supposed to be Seiko's Cartier, like Grand Seiko is Seiko's Rolex. Most of Credor's catalog is full of fashion-watch tier junk.

In the west, watch people only know Credor from the Eichi II and the Masterpiece Collection, which is made in Seiko's special Micro Artist studio. Those watches are made by a tiny number of highly skilled watchmakers. Some are branded Credor, others are Grand Seiko.
