Plaid shirts will always be a part of men's Fall/Winter fashion. Last one I got was a UES extra heavy flannel from their most recent release, the blue one in this picture.

They are some of the best flannels on the market, super heavy and extremely well made. I have two of the 15.5 oz and on 14.5 oz flannel from them and they are all great. iron heart makes the best cotton flannels in the world imo. none i've seen come close.
and for wool its vintage filson and vintage pendleton if you're in america. vintage filson goes for a lot vintage pendleton can be had at a steal on ebay.

Wearing my IH flannel. I own 3 more. Once you get one, you end up selling all of your other flannels. They perfected the flannel, everything else doesn’t really compare. The fit is perfect (not too slim or baggy), the interior is extra soft, the weight is perfect, QC is obviously perfect, their plaid patterns and color ways are the best I’ve seen. Also, western cuts and button snaps are fucking sick

although from my experience trying on some of the UES stuff in person they are really well made garments, my issue is that they rarely (if at all) release western cut flannels with button snaps. Also, at the end of the day I highly prefer the plaid design and color ways from IH. I’m just extra picky like that and these are the things that are deal breakers for me. I’ll spend $350 on shirt ONLY IF it checks all of my boxes

i'm just as picky, the biggest reason i don't have an ih flannel is the exact shadow check pattern i want seems to only ever get listed for $800+ in my size and its discontinued.

>> No.17889348

>>17889339
i machine wash cold/no spin or bucket wash all my flannels and tumble dry low. they shrink a tiny bit but not enough to affect the fit on a looser fitting heritage cut type shirt. on slim cut shirts i just do my tailoring after the shrinkage. something that expensive i would probably dry clean just to be safe.

>> No.17889350

>>17889339
Cold wash on low to medium spin, and hang dry. Turning them inside out is kind of unnecessary unless you have one with actual indigo dye that you don’t want to fade very quickly.

I literally just stretch out and flop around the shirt when I pull it out of the washer. When its damp, its going to look wrinkly even after stretching it a little bit, but as it dries out for a day the softness comes back and the wrinkles go away, especially once you flop it out or stretch it again. You rarely need to wash these things. I probably only wash my IH flannels once every 2 months with regular wear. They must be really breathable or something because they never smell

Folk artists and blue collar Americans ever since the 60s. 90s grunge. Mid 2000s hipsters. Modern day hipsters. Modern day rural folk. You spend too much time insulating yourself on this board

Not to shill but Anian makes legitimately the best flannel for this type of stuff. Price point is around 250 but it’s very well fitted and warm, from recycled materials. I’ve been obsessed with it since. The quality has been unmatched so far aside from vintage wool flannels.

>> No.17892165

they put plastic into their flannels, no thanks

They look great visually, I'll give you that. But $250 is a retarded price to pay for something that cuts corners with nylon and recycled materials instead of good materials like extra high quality cotton or wool. That's what I expect for $250.
