Am I gonna regret getting a baby Alpinist and not the real one, or is it good enough? Frankly I prefer the real one in every regard except for the cyclops. Also it's more expensive of course.

Is stainless steel sportswatch like a Suunto the ultimate Chad watch?
Big and bulky, but also very useful, looks decent for a smartwatch, can get it in a bracelet too. Bitches know you do sports if you have one, bitches also know they cost a couple hundred new and they know the steel is the fancy end of things.

It's not a real alpinist, it's "just" a nice daily. I got it because of the dial texture that's missing from the Alpinist. But the Alpinist has raised lettering which makes the watch look unique. I am happy with my purchase, but if you wante THE Alpinist, then don't get the baby.

The 700-800$ range is very competitive, but I really believe that the Alpinist, no matter which one, is a top 3 choice.
The negative is the caliber. The 6R35A. I have it in 3 of my watches and it's very bad out of the box. You absolutely have to go and get it calibrated or be prepared to lose 30 seconds per day.

The X is bad. The cycloslop is bad. The black on white date is bad. The sapphire is bad. The removal of "Diashock 23 Jewels" removes a big part of the effortless vintage charm of that generation of Seikos which was so much better than the tryhard fauxtina you see on so many "vintage reissues".

Also this dial is pretty cool irl. Sometimes it's silver, sometimes it has a hint of brown, sometimes a hint of pink. Wish a NOS inner-domed crystal wasn't more than the entire watch.

Well, technically I got about a dozen Casios, and thirty Q&Q's, since I own my stores watch inventory.

These two are the only ones worth a fuck though, rest are absolute entry-tier. No point in having a 20000$ stock of Seiko Presage where poorfag commoner swine are gasping for air at the sight of even a $50 Q&Q shitter.

The serious watchfags nowadays only buy online, and I can't match their prices, nobody can. Collectors sometimes buy vintage shit I restored, and get their own vintage shit repaired by me, but that's it.

But honestly, all in all it wasn't worth having an inventory of new watches at all, it's never going to recoup the investment. I should stick to service and repair.

Ceramic is more brittle than alu inserts, why didn't rawlex bezels go to sapphire coating? I get they are fashion objects and nothing to do with tool watches
but below a sapphire you can insert whatever gay material you want anyway though right? and it's more durable and more crack resistant? but ceramic is more flashy or some gay shit?

No, very few Swatch brands make most or all of their own components "in-house" and it's only their top-tier brands (Breguet, Blancpain, GO, Jacquet Droz).

Omega, Longines, Tissot, etc. are all made in a variety of factories to brand-specific spec. The caliber 8900, for example, is only used in Omega watches, but it's made in the same factory that makes movements for Hamiltons, Longines, Tissots etc. Same with cases, dials, bracelets, and all the other parts.
