3133 is Valjoux 7734-based, dumbfuck, and no, they're not accurate above the average.

The closest thing the Russians had to a chronometer was the Volna/Almaz line, and those are all beat to shit by today. Or the one thousand or so Accutron-knockoffs, the Slava Transistors, but those are extremely rare, and most of them died a few years into their lives, because slavchimps can't into electronics nor microscopic precision.

Expecting a baby next year (boy), had the idea of getting a ''nice'' watch for me, now I think I would get it to me and give it to my son when he reaches an older age, I have some watches but are basically shitters. Was thinking about having a 4.000eur budget at most.

Watches I have in mind:

Black bay, don't know if 36 or 58, bit nice
Tudor ranger, a bit simple but I'm simple myself.
Oris aquis caliber 400, the power reserve and movement is interesting, the watch itself is interesting.
Oris big crown, I like the adittional hand and the numbers shape, so the one with cal400 looks good and has small seconds, but the font is different.
Seiko Marinemaster, big, wears well, nothing really fancy about it.
Longines Legend diver 36mm, love the looks, movement does not look specially interesting and underwhelming lume, would suit my wrist well, although I think there is a 39mm version that will come in the future with better specs, really tempting and probably would be a better option.
Longines Spirit 37mm, reliable movement, cosc and good lume.
Sinn 144, basic chrono, like the old porsche one but I like the design.

I like nh35 movements because you can just take them apart and rebuild them, service yourself with a little practice

If you buy vintage or some shit you can never get parts

If you buy Rolex or AP or patek parts will only be available to authorized dealers

And they act like the average person can’t remove a movement and swap out a mainspring while watching Netflix

The thing I hated about vintage watches is that you seriously had to fucking sit there and repair the old parts and be very fucking careful because it’s one of 1

With an nh35

You can lose the fucking bridge and someone probably has one in a drawer somewhere

And you can ask anyone on threads like this if you’re new and having trouble, “can anyone give me tips on getting this nh35 keyless works back together?”

It's not being hated because it's popular, it's hated because the movement is disposable.

Let's use OP's Tsuyosa as a comparison. If the movement of that thing breaks or fails, there's a lot of 8210 movements to salvage from and you can easily just replace your Tsuyosa's movement in the process.

You can't do the same for the PRX due to its use of plastic parts, when it dies, your only recourse is to buy a new one while your old, broken one is just going to be in a landfill when it doesn't need to be.

It's an automatic, not a shitty smartwatch.

If you send it to Tissot to be serviced, they'll likely do that, but it's going to cost more versus doing it with the Miyota 8210 which only costs less than $10 for the movement itself.

Tissot's model is almost similar to Apple's wherein it's arguably cheaper to just buy a new one instead of getting Tissot to service it, but that's because it's DESIGNED that way.

yea, I genuinely don't get the sentiment newcomers have against microbrands, if anything, the fact that they're not brands are the reason they're forced to punch above their specs if they want to be noticed.

The advent of smartwatches mean serious microbrands cannot pull the same bullshit as what Filippo Loretti, Valuchi or MVMT got away with years back, if they want to catch people's attentions, they need to stick with the watch meta which is a trifecta of:
>A reliable movement
>316 L SS
>Inner AR Sapphire glass

Hell, that requirement on its own already puts them ahead on some brand offerings like Seiko since a lot of Seiko models on the sub $500 range don't even sport Sapphire, alot of them still go for hardlex.

The other thing microbrands also have over brands is attention to QC and better customer service. The whole benefits of competition in business that Business 101 talks about alot as a counterpoint to a monopoly since businesses are required to step up the quality of their products if they want to have an edge against their competitors? That's at its best in the Microbrand scene, you literally see microbrands like Pagani Design selling Rolex homages with 316L SS and Sapphire glass(albeit with no inner AR coating) for $75, and that's with Seiko NH movements, albeit from Indonesia instead of Japan.

That would wholly depend on whether I encounter one who's reasonable or not. Ideally I wouldn't want to pay beyond $500.

I already know what their gameplan is now they they've finally realized what they have on their hands, they're going to do a Zelos and rerelease this thing once a year with faux limited editions, hence why they kept Black and Grey as limited editions and threw blue in as a cope option since it allows them to preserve how much more they can get when they redo it next year.

I just wish Seconde seconde gave the concept to a better brand since it's unfortunately the best one he's came up with besides Massena Labs' Uni-Racer design.

>>17873413

You guys are clearly new if that's the point you're trying to make. Miyota 90xx movements have listed their specs at -10-+30spd, but most of the ones I got barely go past -/+4spd, I also have an NH35 watch that I got for $329 that's at a neat +6spd.

The specs are there specifically as a baseline, a lot of them can do better, even moreso for microbrands that DO regulate them 1 by 1 before the movements get put in, case in point being picrel, Vario regulates theirs to be within +2-+3spd before Ivan closes the caseback on the movement, which makes his watches better than alot of brands that even use Swiss movements.

You don't get that treatment from most big brands, and the only other brand I know that does this is Kurono Tokyo because they're technically a pseudo-Luxury brand.

based on what they're doing with the Mako v3 and how alot of Seiko's Dive watches are getting past the $1k mark, it's safe to assume Seiko is trying to funnel people towards Orient when it comes to affordably reliable divers.

Wrong again. You're revealing the fact that the only microbrand you even know about is also literally the worst one. MVMT's history isn't representative of microbrands as a whole. MVMT succeeded because they cheaped out on movements and material then spending a ton on marketing.

Pagani Design, Cadisen and San Martin were offering 316 L SS, Sapphire glass with at least NH35 and 38s for 1/3rd the amount of how much MVMT was selling their watches while using trash like Chromed Brass for cases and mineral glass for crystal.

There's a reason why after a decade, Singapore has been on everyone's radar specifically because the best microbrands in the business are from that country, yet the only shit you know about is Alpha M getting bribed by college kids to say that their shitty watch is better than a Rolex.

Hell, I genuinely think it's the only good looking one in their lineup, they nailed it with that White and orange color scheme. My GS has me sated when it comes to luxury shit, but I'm more than happy to make an exception for the Explorer II. It says alot that it's the GMT design alot of microbrands love to rip off, even moreso with the advent of NH34A and Miyota 9075. The latter was a massive breakthrough for being a true GMT just like the Explorer itself.

It's the only Rolex that I'd actually acknowledge when I see it on someone's wrist, since I've unironically seen people who are bothered with the 4th hand format with GMT watches in social media. If you stuck with your Explorer II after getting one 8 years ago for $7k, you clearly knew your shit then since $7k isn't an easy amount to part with, so you clearly know your shit now.

Do digital watches have a future? Do they have a legitimate place separate from smartwatches, or are they just a long past step in evolution? Mechanical watches will always have a place as jewelry, but besides cheap G Shocks, will there be any market for digitals in like 10 or 20 years?

Schizo here, based on Roshan's explanation on the Blue variant, it's 1:1 to the Black one bar the color and the lack of a quantity number in the caseback, the ghosts are painted in C1 for some while the rest are in C3 Superluminova, which creates a neat effect where they look like they're in varying colors of green when in the dark.

Saw a dude do that with their gold Yachtmaster so I pretended to be retarded and mentioned it was a cool looking Bronze watch, the guy genuinely looked incensed and corrected me about how it's a 40mm GOLD Yachtmaster, and that its better than the 36mm he had of it a few months back.

For certain activities, particularly military and police related activities, it makes some sense. A lot of people say it's just to protect your crystal if you hit your wrist on something, but if you think about it a bit there can be a few other advantages.
-The crystal is less likely to reflect light and glare and give away your presence
-If you're doing the military style cigarette hold to hide the cherry on your cigarette from view or from the wind by pointing it into your hand you can see your watch on the same hand without turning your wrist.
>If you're using a rifle you can easily reference the time without removing your off hand from the rifle or taking the rifle off target.
>If you end up wrestling someone on the ground your watch is less likely to hit the ground or press into the ground as you're holding them down or crawling on your elbows.

Glad to see you took my side, I'll add more points to make it better.

The Miyota 90xx movements also have better anti-magnetic performance, so to add to the ease of regulation, you don't need a Weishi to regulate the movement safely.

The issue with watch regulation and using phone apps is that risk of magnetization is still in effect. From my convos with the CEO of Zelos, it's the one point the Miyota 90xx movements have over the Sellita movements.

That said, that's also one of the reasons why Miyota 90xx movements are somewhat pricier than their Seiko NH counterparts, even at bulk, they're still pricy. Although the one advantage Seiko's NH movements have over Miyota 90xx movements is that whenever you need to replace them, NH movements will always be cheaper in comparison.

Yes. Orient being a Seiko subsidiary means they use Lumibrite, which strikes a good balance between C1 and C3 Superluminova in terms of brightness and duration.

That said, I'm not a fan of it, the other reason why I specifically like the 50 Phantoms is because it mostly uses C3 Superluminova, which means brighter, longer lume. The Seiko's credit though, when you're actually diving with the thing, Lumibirite for some reason is better in the legibility of numbers than C1 and C3 are, so Lumibrite might not outshine C3, but it does a better job for dive watches than C3 does.

Regulating is super easy fir both NH and Miyota movements since they're very straightforward, if you're playing it solely by ear, all you really need is a toothpick and $13 caseback opening tool.

The incentive of nailing the regulation right the first time and why I tend to urge people to do it with a Weishi is because you want to minimize the action of opening and closing your watch, since it affects overall WR. You'll need a industrial press eventually if you keep overdoing it.

With a Weishi, you can regulate the watch while the caseback is still open, and you're in an idea position to do so as well since from experience, the best angle to regulate on is dial up. Using phone apps require trial and error and this means eventual wear on the caseback as you keep opening and closing it.

It's quite literally fake. If you don't know how to tell it apart, then go and get smart.
Post your watch (obviously you won't)

In my experience, people with fake Rolexes will often volunteer that it's fake if someone compliments them on it.

Very nice, friend.
I've been looking at picking up an OP Date for myself. Which reference number is that?

Something about fake Rolexes I've noticed is that they don't even have the sheen you see off microbrands. It makes me think they're specifically just made to fool normies, even moreso in an era when they don't even know sweeping second hands are a thing since a lot of millenials and most zoomers are used to quartz clocks and watches that tick per second to conserve battery.

Thanks. It's a 15200.
They've been discontinued but they made them for years so there's plenty available. It's also an under-the-radar model, so prices on them aren't insane.
