Is there a more appropriate board to post these threads on? If not it’s ok, I like effay’s taste on interior design anyway.

I’m going for Mid-Century this year.

The Bauhaus aesthetic is cold and sad, as if you were in a luxurious Swiss euthanasia clinic.
On the other hand, the mid-century aesthetic is now the default style for normies, every normie has a fake Eames chair.
If there are furniture of these two styles in your house, it will seem like you live in a museum.
Now it is fashionable to mix minimalist Japanese aesthetics with classic Scandinavian chairs. This is beautiful, but it seems artificial to me.
The Super Normal aesthetic is the best if you want to build a really nice environment.

That’s because it’s not trying to be minimalist, it’s just a lived in eclectic/modernist home.

I think it’s important to see these sorts of spaces being occupied with every day objects that shows people actually live here, As opposed to having a highly curated museum space. This is the compromise that happens when you have GF and your forced to let go of any ultra minimalist / brutalist fantasies.

>>17876475
Of course, never compromise on cleanliness. but, don’t be afraid if your house looks lived in at times and to have personal heirlooms and decorations around as well. You want women to enjoy the time at your place without it feeling like a hotel room.

It's cheap. The room needs to be 60x60 (vaulted) and the bed needs to be a pile of new Zealand wool bound in Egyptian cotton on a raised Japanese cedar frame with recessed warm led accent lighting behind. The floor needs to be bare stone or imported with a circular handwoven 24x24 jute rug in dark primary colors. The television and sound system should be recessed into stone walls which slide open on command revealing a grotto hot tub and waterfall shower. There should be no kitchen or toilet anywhere on premises because that's for poors.

I don't know what the Foucault term for this is but basically you're very proud of your 8 million dollar glass and metal home in whatever Coastal meme City you live in and you want people to see your big TV you want people to see you seeing your big TV you want to patter around your kitchen fashionably dressed in the evening and passers by to look up and see you and wonder oh I wonder what beautiful meal they're preparing. Its $40 of macaroni and cheese from the Whole foods hot bar.

Poor people in more plugged in cities also do this and they shove a bunch of plants and little knick knacks in their window and then set up their entertainment area in front of said window so passers by can see them reading or gooning on discord or whatever and they feel like the lofi chill beats anime girl despite being a sexually confused 24yo man.

It's certainly not a thing in lower tier big cities like Houston because of the racial problems the crime problems that actually does Foster brawl and gated Suburbia behind cameras fences and brutally rigid Greenery. My apartment faces a cemetery but I would walk around naked with the windows open even if my neighbors weren't dead.

You could make something like that at a fairly affordable price and make that wall design thing yourself if you're handy. The space itself is what's expensive, an apartment like that must cost hundreds of thousands if not millions.

>> No.17884498

>>17883915
honestly you could have that look even in a decently large studio. Track lighting isn't that expensive, a bed that looks like that isn't that expensive. The only thing that is difficult is that stone thing on the wall but like you said it's also doable.

The thing is, why would you want to? The pedophiles who live in these 50 million dollar properties barely even live there full time, that's why they can afford to have weird and honestly somewhat unlivable designs. They can afford to have multiple properties where each one is basically just an investment and art piece they barely live in and just hold cult rituals in sometimes so they can be sterile and cold and eclectic

But I'd say if that room were done in lighter tones with maybe a jute rug under the bed it'd be much more inviting.

>>17875511
It feels a bit cold and uncomfortable to me. I'm imagining sitting in those chairs and resting my elbows on that cold table and it just doesn't feel comfortable

>>17876373
I think that's a good starting off point. In my opinion things look better when there's a basic overall color palette to the room, at least for the large items. If I were you I'd be looking at wooden furniture that looks good next to the floor, so not the same color but in some natural finish, and not too dark. I'd go with a cream colored couch, wicker baskets, stuff like that. And then obviously you can add some more color with paintings and decorations and stuff like that.

>>17877624
I agree, I think empty space is pretty underrated. Just having a clean spot on the floor or a clean desk is a really nice feeling

That's because you're a nihilist like most of your people. They're unhappy anywhere because that's who they are on a base level. Even when your kind moves to the west they still end up thinking things could be better elsewhere or if some circumstance could change. Truly insatiable. Meanwhile Anglos, French, Dutch, Spaniards, Portuguese, etc literally traveled the globe to random backwaters and built themselves empires from the wildernesses.

We are not the same.

you're going to spend that 500+shipping on something, and you're going to make another 500+shipping soon enough, so why not treat yourself?

I've worked in the lighting industry for 7 years.

Brass comes and goes every 3-4 years in terms of popularity, between then people usually go for the tried and true finishes such as brushed nickel and oil rubbed bronze. it would be a long time before I would say brass is outdated as it compliments a range of different interior designs ranging from browns/leather furniture to mid century modern furniture-- just depends on how you style the room/house, many of my fixtures are brass and I enjoy them!
