I'm looking for something with the same vibe: it's warm, sweet and very masculine and sexy. Not in a traditionally manly way, but more like ”I'm confident in who I am, and don't mind wearing something more feminine”. I think I naturally project this energy so this perfume suits me perfectly.

Positively surprised TF's Tobacco Vanillle actually smells like nothing else but tobacco and vanille. Unfortunately it does remind me a pub filled with unwashed 60+ year old alcoholics though. There's something in all TF's leather and tobacco frags that reminds me unwashed clothes and body odeur.

Spiek is the best aftershave. It actually feels like it’s good for the skin. It also smells very nice and natural. Performance is whag you expect out of an aftershave. Hattric smells green and fresh. Think direction of eau sausage. The performance is better than you’d expect from an aftershave and it’s very inexpensive if bought in Germany, while smelling natural.

Man, I sampled a few Arab clones/clones in general. They're the only frags that I've ever wanted to scrub off, no matter how crap the real designer or niche is (that I've tried) it's never screechingly headache inducing that also makes you want to vomit. Chanel 19 is pretty great. Try it out. Opening is pretty burly, later it becomes a bit more feminine, but could be pulled off by a guy. after all, women don't really wear green florals nowadays, just ethyl maltol sugarbombs. So, I've tasted the Le Male Elixir.
Honestly, I have expected something better from such a hyped fragrance.

The first minute of the opening was simply terrible.
After that it smells like some sweet sugary mint gum for about 30 minutes. And I also wouldn't describe it as something super pleasant.
And then it's honey with lavender. Smells fine, I guess.

Anyone would like to share your thoughts?

Grey flannel is extremely bitter-green and powdery due to the Galbanum and violett leaf, gets very floral and cold. Really enjoy it. The almond and tonkabean in the drydown was a let down, because it smells like baby powder later.

I bought Polo Sport for the first time since 1999 the other day, cheap ass shaving lotions I've bought in the last 10 years smell more like the original Polo Sport than this shit. Are all of the modern versions of all the classic 90s designer fragrances this bad? I don't feel like spending $200-$300 on perfume but this stuff is terrible, I must have sprayed it about 15 times earlier and maybe that made it somewhat resemble the original but it was gone in about 25 minutes and 5 hours later there is barely even a trace of it.

I bought the TF Tuscan Leather clone (named "Tuscano Leather") and it smells very good to me.
However, it seems to completely fade in under an hour no matter how much I spray. Also, I haven't had the chance to smell the real thing so I can't comment on the accuracy of the clone. The bottle looks nice (and probably has a lot to do with the lawsuit from Tom Ford) but the cap is not magnetic and falls off very easily if the bottle is not kept perpendicular.

if you want the one described in the flowchart, you're looking for "dior homme original", you will know it by its cap looking like the one in the chart. it can be a little hard to find because it has limited distribution nowadays. "dior homme intense" is also fairly similar and more common, a sweeter, stronger version.

However, 1872 for Men (2001) goes in quite a different direction, seeking to present a fragrance designed with modern sensabilities using mostly ingredients available to The Crown Perfumery back at inception in 1872 plus a few naturally-derived molecules. What does this yield exactly? Well, something like a chypre but constructed in a manner that sees it wield classic floral absolutes, aromatics, woods, and resins to convey a modern standard of gentlemanly clean for someone not into vintage perfume. I think it's kind of just by virtue of its fame at this point. and old women using it as a signature. for younger people, aldehyde-heavy scents can be offputting. not to say it's a bad scent, but it's definitely not the accessible mass pleaser anymore

honestly I think Shalimar smells much less dated as far as the early 20th century women's bestsellers go

I much prefer Tuscan Leather of the two
consider also Guerlain Cuir Intense. a bit more animalic than Tuscan Leather and with an oriental twist. I think it's very nice and definitely cheaper than TL
there's also of course Ombre Leather, but that gets more ambery and sweet in the drydown

I work in a funeral home. I found a nearly-empty ~30 year old bottle of this in the back of the morticians cabinet. He used to use it when preparing decedents for viewings, before switching to some generic Boronia scent. It's the best smelling fragrance I've come across in fucking ages. what are the strongest/biggest projection spice+tobacco frags you know? i got a spicebomb extreme recently (bought from a guy online, 22w6 batch) and the performance is garbo
its noticable for around 30 mins, then its a skin scent for 2-3 hours then its fucking gone
