I think casio is ditching multi band 6 for bluetooth in their newer watches. You can just use airplane mode if you don't mind having a little airplane on the display. So far, all models that have that screen (Memory in Pixel) have a lot more pictures than that one, but I've heard a rumor that they are planning to release a plain square with it

Not true. I was researching for watches for weeks and what I needed was something which needed no charge and no synching the time.

Best fitting this description would be the citizen ecodrives or a handful of casios.

I thought paying around 300€ for a watch for just telling the time was a bit excessive so I kept on looking. Some with a bit more functions were much more expensive but also absolutely hideous.
In the end I went for the garmin instinct 2x, since the garmins have a fuckwad of extra functions like heart rate monitoring, pusioximeter, powerful gps, training software, programmable with your own shit, reading notifications, answering phone, ABC sensors... A fucking flashlight.

Everywhere it's reviewed as "unlimited battery". This model in particular is black and white MIP (not color) and no touch-screen. So it makes it the most power efficient and best solar charging model they have (otherwise the latest fenix models are better when it comes to functions).

But unlimited battery my fucking ass. To be able to have unlimited battery you need to achieve 150klux (amount of solar absorption) per day and not use the GPS; albeit you can still have phone notifications active.

But with regular use I can assure you won't be reaching those numbers. I went on a long bike ride under the sun (watch is pretty much facing the sun at all times) for an hour and a half. I burned my arms. And yet the watch charged 80klux only. That's half of what's needed in a day to keep it running indefinitely in this "basic use" mode.

You can also disable all functions to just leave the watch there and you should be able to keep it alive with just 20klux a day. But on a regular day (staying in the office with about 1h of being outside on an average day in spain) I get 10klux a day tops. So no: unlimited battery is really far from practical usage.
At the same time, I did have one of those solar casios when I was a kid and it would charge even with indoor light in a bunker.

Yeah if it has "tough solar" in it, it's casio's way of saying "it'll charge in the shade".
It should be unlimited.

I don't like that particular model because of the looks. I prefer those sapphire analog models.

Also a warning: even if a watch is solar, the battery degrades with time; so you might need to replace it after a handful of years (3? 6?). Still, most of these old lived brands tend to adhere to standards so it should be easy and cheap to replace.

Unlike with garmin batteries, which are superpropietary locked shit like apple.

The battery life is 'okay' like I can go a solid two days with 20% left with every feature turned on.

Features:
-Always on display
-HR monitor
-breathing monitor
-ECG
-sleep monitor
-GPS/weather/calendar
-3 hours of exercise in 48 hours(it can do 5-6 hour long hikes as well, but got down to like 2-3% over the weekend)
-about 1 hour of call time

The titanium is also very good quality, Grade 5. A $4-5k Tudor uses Grade 2 which scratches up like a little bitch if you look at it funny. This shit you can bang it to hell and it still looks brand new.

Of course it's not a Garmin with a weeklong battery life but it can also do much more compared to the Garmin. You can't even use ApplePay, make calls or connect to the internet with the Garmin.

I have the gbd-200 and I like it. I linked it to my phone mainly for synchronizing the time. Sometimes it's nice to get notifications but in general it's annoying and I would suggest disabling it. The display is indeed nice and clear, the activity tracking is decent.

It's a little on the big side. I'm used to it but it's relatively bulky, so harder to wear with buttoned or tight sleeves. For the money (I paid about 100 euro) it's a solid watch

Why the fuck do people like Smiths watches? Smiths went to the top of Everest, along with the Rolex, but then smiths went out of business and was bought by some faggot who decided to bring the brand back by making a replica of the Rolex, not the Smiths. Then you have this piece of shit which is a complete copy of the Rolex commando, down tot he name, and he gave it a “tropical” dial, which happened to some Rolexes due to the paint they used aging poorly. It’s a replica of a watch from a completely different company that is made to look like it was aged. Who buys this shit?

Pulling a night shift at my own watch repair shop to clear the backlog a bit, fellas. Figured this was a good opportunity to also squeeze in this Accutron I got for myself, and look around whether I have a 30.0mm crystal laying about I can pop in.

They are catering to the western market.
Nig- I mean disaffected youths, are looking for huge watches so that people notice them, they don't care about whether the size fits their wrists. They wear watches as a statement, as a disposable accessory that matches their outfit for a day or two before putting it away and buying another one.
