The idea of dividing decades into distinct cultural eras is an invention of marketing advertisers, aimed at commodifying nostalgia into a generalized cliché.

This constant recycling of Internet trends of being apart of ‘this decade’ may have just canceled our future.

shia core -> kanye is undeniably influenced by it for yeezy season 1 -> streetwear melds with high fashion over the next few years, emo rap peaks, minimalism comes and goes once again -> 2020s, virgil dies, tiktok takes over, archival fashion, grunge, y2k, other stuff gets a revival -> yeezy season 8-onwards gets serious and dark, everything around the donda era, coincides with a 2021-2022-2023? wave of dark and abstract and kinda demonic but also textured fashion across balenciaga, vetements, diesel, etc (also feel like it coincides with the popularity of yeat, carti/opium and the vamp/rage villain arc rick monster aesthetic) -> now we're almost back at 2013 core
not a coincidence that we're ~5-7 years past art hoes and high rise jeans and primary colors and mac demarco and bedroom pop which really feel dated now, and are looking backwards for trends like low rise jeans, heroin chic, fairycore, y2k, 2000s emo/grunge that's starting to become cool again. not a coincidence that andrew tate can make a career ~5 years past the peak of cancel culture. also not a coincidence that skrillex is back on the menu and is not seen as cringe
anyway i feel like this combines a lot of those trends, big bomber from streetwear BUT oversized like a yeezy cut, not slimmed down, not really minimalist, a bit terrorwave-y, a little bit future vagrant-ish but definitely not techwear futuristic, kinda grunge but no skinny distressed black jeans to be seen, just rough around the edges like 2013 shia core but the muted gray, green, tan, brown palette feels like archival stuff as opposed to the more normie colors in shia fits

There's absolutely nothing unique zoomers have of their own. All their trends are recycled from the past generations. Even the skinny jeans are just women's jeans fit transferred to men.

if anything, it's not even a fixture, it's dead and was dead a long time before it reached louis vuitton collab level. supreme, bape, palace, cos, obey, hypebeast sneakerhead shit is gone, at least compared to where it was a few years ago, and it's probably gonna take another subculture to grow and define itself in order for high fashion brands to sink their vulture claws into it and resell to rich people with no friends and no life
