I'm looking for a suit or at least a suit jacket and I'm conflicted on the information about what the proper length would be. A lot of sites say you should be able to grab the hem of the suit with your arms straight and it should cover your butt at the end, whereas many places have modern suits that are very short to the point where the sleeves end at your wrist (pic related). Are there any rules? I'm gonna need the suit for a wedding (not mine). I'm pretty tall but kinda narrow chest so most likely off the rack I'm gonna have to pick between a bit loose on the chest or a bit short in the sleeves and hem.

I'm not a suit guy, but since nobody's answered yet, and I'm not new, I'm going to give it a shot. There are rules for classic suits and cuts, and there is the fashion cycle, trends, and fads, like you've referred to yourself as modern suits. If it's not a court hearing, it comes down to what you like, what looks good on you, and what you want to spend. As long as you are aware of extremes and meme fads, you are going to be good. More concretely, the pic you've posted is somewhat nice to look at, the cut is trendy, young, sporty, and somewhat works for the model, so it's not a boring pic. But it's not something I'd buy, or wear even. Where are the sleeves when he puts his arms up? How out of touch will this suit look when looser cuts hit suits again? Be trendy with an H&M tee. When it comes to suits, and you don't have money to burn, play it s..., let's say more classically. I think of the rules as guidelines, not absolutes.

any safety razor good? I don't use amazon much and I heard fake reviews are common so I assume it's not just most reviews=best. The weishi one has the most but the people who sell it are really foreign with lots of grammar mistakes. The gillette one is by gillette and I never even saw that commercial but apparently they shit on their customers. Manscaped just sounds gay. There are plenty of others but too lazy. you may have luck with chinese razors but you never know since they have 0 quality control
if you want something good, get made in Germany (merkur, muhle, etc)
if it's too expensive for you, then a cheap Wilkinson or any of the chinese ones will do the job and at least give you a first impression on safety razors
blades are way more important than handle tho, and there isn't a magical answer to which one is better since it depends on too many things (your hair, your skin, the handle your using and so on)
the only way is to try a lot and find what's good for you (but again, made in Germany or Japan means quality)

No, I just thought of what would match and saw that everything that came to mind fit, and then I thought of what wouldn't work. The shirt gives you blue, green, black, and yellow. Blue and black/ grey is standard for pants, add brown, tan, beige, which is both pretty neutral and typically prep. White is too much contrast, maybe you could make purple work if you hit the absolute right tone, but you'd push it, pink would be super in your face, and could kinda work for that effect, turquoise could fly, since it's green and blue, if I'm not mistaken, I've looked at color wheels, but I don't really know them.

It puts tension on the blade for starters and I have noticed cheap plastic ones after a while warp the blade and it was no longer straight

I've been completely changing my wardrobe over the last 1.5 months. I've been ordering shirts from Tailor Store and had them adjust my shirt 4 times before they stopped doing it for free. I'm actually really satisfied with their customer support, so they'll be getting a 5-star from me regardless.

Anyways, my issue that hasn't been fixed yet is that even after adjusting my shirt 4 times, when I bring both arms up in front of me to shoulder height, it is pretty tight around my armpit and shoulders which makes it a pain to drive or reach up or towards the ground. Is this something that I'm just going to have to deal with when I wear Linen shirts?

My newest sizing:
Back waist darts
Back yoke: Split yoke

Collar size: 14.6"
Chest width (half circumference): 19.5"
Waist width (half circumference): 16.9"
Bottom width (half circumference): 19.4"
Shoulder width: 18.1"
Sleeve length: 25.6"
Armhole depth: 10.1"
Bicep (half circumference): 7.6"
Cuff size (half circumference): 4.1"
Front length: 27.8"
Back width: 16.2"

The newer sizing did feel a tiny bit looser but still not much better.

Old sizing:
Back waist darts

Collar size: 14.6"
Chest width (half circumference): 19.9"
Waist width (half circumference): 17.5"
Bottom width (half circumference): 19.9"
Shoulder width: 18.1"
Sleeve length: 25.6"
Armhole depth: 9.7"
Bicep (half circumference): 7.1"
Cuff size (half circumference): 4.1"
Front length: 26.8"

Any suggestions?

For skinny-fat on a good frame, regular or relaxed fit should do. Narrow shoulder and wide hip may need something different to balance out, like regular pants and a lose shirt.

This is humongous, and looks pretty meme-y. It blends in with the background and the pants, but say, you wear this size on a blue standard polo, that would be just off with a different look, and the arms drape differently with a different hem on it. Note picrel is a tee, not that big, and he wears long sleeves under to not be totally lost in it. If you want the look of your pic, you need to buy an offer like that, following the size info of the seller.

I dont know what the "proper" way is. But what i like to do it is fold some of the excess fabric into the sides, and then pull the bottom of the front and back out slightly so they billow into a boxy shape. You could say this makes you look less slim, but i dont think thats the effect, people can see you're not filling the shirt up with a gut. And it creates a mostly clean, flat front instead of the excess fabric creating wrinkles.
