So I took out 3 links on a ~10 year old Nixon watch my mom has last night. But then I made a mistake and tried to do the microadjustment and didn't realize it was a springbar until it was too late. I sat there trying to do it with my fingers or a tool for a while but my mom actually ended up being the one to do it. And she got it into the smaller size microadjustment I wanted to. I think any kind of GMT complication is near worthless and I can't really understand why anyone would ever want one. If you can't do complex sums like "-2" or "+8" in your head, you might be too dumb to even read the time.

I will also never understand the point of the date watch. Day/date, absolutely. Date? Why are you spoiling the styling of the watch for info that really isn't very relevant day to day? Personally I dislike them. If you're consistently timing things to the second, a dedicated stopwatch is better. The tiny plungers on watches are awkward to press, and all the stupid little subdials fuck up the watch face. It's also pretty hard to find one with a day/date complication, and most of the ones that do turn it into a stupid subdial with a hand.

It's not a GMT watch, it's a dual-time watch. Both hour hands make a complete revolution in 12 hours.
The second hour hand (the blue one) is your home time. The main hour hand (the silver one) is your local time. It can be advanced in one-hour jumps when you travel to different timezones. The day-night indicator is tied to the home time hand and lets you know if it's day or night back home.

Let's just say you go on Chrono24 and find a Speedmaster Pro in Japan for around 3,300 dollars.
You don't have to pay C24 any additional fees. The seller pays the fees. (The seller will include the fees in his sales price, though.)
Shipping cost is something you negotiate with the seller.
Sales tax is US state specific. You can do your own math on that front.

Import duties are strange, depending on the stated value of the watch. In the 3000-4000 dollar range, I've been hit with import duties of max. 120 dollars. Usually it's around 60 dollars. Most often, I don't have to pay import duties at all and it's just shipped to me as if it were a pack of socks. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.

What year? If it's before 2011, it was still an ebauche that IWC modified and built from pieces. After that ETA only sold them ready movements.

The Speedmaster line is full of modernized designs that are all thick as cinder blocks. Why? Why is it OK to make green or burgundy Speedmaster with date windows but not touch at the thickness? Is the thickness of the Speedmaster sacred or something? Who's gonna complain if Omega made the Speedmaster 2mm thinner?

Brands alter their designs all the time. JLC has changed the lugs of the Reverso a few years ago and nobody's complaining. It was a great decision, the watch sits better on the wrist now.
