What do I need to care for my boots?

>Horsehair brush ($10-15)
>Wooden shoe trees ($10-15)
>Light conditioner like Lexol/Bck4/renovateur
>Heavy conditioner (if you live in terrible snow/rain areas) Sno seal/Obernauf LP
>Don't forget that boots need time to dry properly, rotate them an

How do I deal with x stain?
>mud: allow it to dry then brush off
>salt: water and cloth as soon as possible
>saturated wet: allow the boot to dry for a full day, stuff with newspaper
>scuffs and scratches: buff vigorously with horsehair brush

>Should I buy turdsdays/soloshits/doc shitans?
No they are filled with synthetic materials aimed at instant comfort but will not hold up to actual use.
>b-b-but muh ecelebs on youtube said they're good
no. you will waste your time and money and still have uncomfortable footwear at the end of the day. spend the extra $100 and get something real.

i don't know why but this seems like a less durable construction method than commiting to either just blake or GYW
combine that with this white fugly synthetic midsole being the key piece bridging both construction methods together and it's a recipe for disaster
also them having a FAQ with "what should i do if my boot falls apart after a year?" is concerning
all this on top of "made in brazil", "as seen on Esquire, WSJ, Forbes, ect."

Looking to get my first pair of custom boots (and second pair of boots in my life). Pretty set on the White’s Semi Dress. Would appreciate any thoughts to the specs below and greentext

Pic related is a pic I found of the SD in brown dress on the C461 last with a ¼” lowered (looks like shit imo) heel.

Last — Standard (55)
>I am considering the C461 last as the C461 seems like it has a more interesting profile, and less bulbous toebox than the 55 if I'm understanding it correctly. But I am a wide width (10EEE brannock), so I don’t know if the C461 would better, more comfortable, or look more goofy-looking than a shoe built on the 55 last in this size. Would appreciate thoughts
Toe Vamp Leather — Brown Dress
Upper (Shaft) Leather — Brown Dress
Toe Cap — No Thanks
Celastic Toe Box — Single Celastic Toe
Pull Loops — No Thanks
Leather Liner — No Thanks
Hardware — All Antique Eyes
>Still considering speedhooks, but find them annoying, and on a 5” boot, don’t think that’s needed
Sole Trim — Standard Trim (Double Row Stitch)
Midsole — Single
Heel Base — Standard
Heel Lifts — Standard
Edge — Brown
Sole — Vibram 430 Mini Vib

>> No.17700541

>>17700495
definitely don't get the lowered heel meme.

I believe that's one of their sprung toe lasts the bulbousness is determined by the celastic (I got 2 pairs of 55 lasts one celastic one not, I'll post them when I get access to my other device)

Think the speedhooks is unnecessary on the SD

Would recommend the standard half comp sole for the uninterrupted heel stack

Thanks, I really appreciate it.
I think a better way of putting it, based on what I've read, is that the 55 looks more rounded ( whenlooking down at your boots), whereas the C461 has a more "almond-like" look to it. And yeah, the C461 is a bit more springy

Can you speak more about the soles? This is a subject I know very little about, but I figured that the 430 was the best in terms of comfort and durability. Tbh I didn't really look at the half comp sole too much, but will look into it more

These cost me around $329 i believe, Horween roughout CXL would have been +$80, but i was cheap and it was the first time i tried jakkrabbits so i went with their local leather. Its fine honestly. You search for Rangers BM65 and make sure they're made by Argueyrolles or Marbot, are made with the grainy thick leather, and don't have less than 7 or 8 eyelets. Fakes can sometimes have 7, but not 8 (allegedly). As you can see mine have 8. These are the air force ones. There are versions made for the actual army (good) and ones made for mall cops (trash). Just like if you buy Austrian memes you look for SteinKOGLER and not the fake shit ones for faggots from reddit SteinADLER. All of this info is from the top of my head, and there was more I can't remember. There was a French page with a lot of details that I had to translate, but they took it down. If they're too cheap, they're guaranteed shit. The price is usually around 120+.

Whites and Vibergs are generally really well made. Nicks should definitely be priced lower. Their quality control is absolute shit and they cannot justify charging the same price as Whites. In my opinion Vibergs are way overrated. Their lasts just don't really appeal to me, and Dainite soles are just fucking awful due to being hard as a rock and having no traction. In summary out of those three companies mentioned, Whites absolutely takes the cake in terms of build quality, last design, and comfort, and the other two are memes.

I've decided to get rid of my brown CXL Vibergs and get something that fits me better.

I'm thinking of maybe a brown CXL Carmina instead, commando sole, on Forest EEE last.
Alternatively I thought maybe an Enzo Bonafe MTO in Horween Brown Zug, also on commando sole, on the 363Mod last.

In either case I'd go with a plain toe derby boot obviously.
Any other ideas? I know either of these will fit but I also know they will both look a little dressy.

Wish I could get something like Whites in Europe without paying the mafia (import taxes).

fellas. I could use some boot advice.

For a while I was considering the Wesco motorcycle cop boot, but I don’t think I want to spend so much

I just found these German military replica things on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Epic-Militaria-Wachbataillon-us_footwear_size_system-numeric_10/dp/B0BLVSNTN7/ref=asc_df_B0BLVSNTN7/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=649380001658&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14350083288685105965&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9067609&hvtargid=pla-1979669620484&psc=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwtamlBhD3ARIsAARoaEwEFQce0vLVOEEvJu0IE6kr-zor2KCSpLqNl9f8DriIX8bF1u_31ykaAhO5EALw_wcB)) for only $180 but I’m sure the quality is ass.

I’ve also seen good Prada ones but I can’t afford new and don’t want used crusty dusty musty boots.

So my question: what would you recommend for a black boot of this style, either mid calf or a bit higher, under $250 ideally but would go up to $350 if it makes a huge difference.

Thanks for reading the novel gents

that doesn't equal good, in fact it sucks having thicker uppers to break in. Its nothing special that they use thicker cuts from the tannery that aren't as well suited for footwear.

>I have not a single idea about bootmaking

Let’s debunk
>machine is more consistent
Also inferior as the cut flap can be damaged, broken, tear through
>thick upper leather
Meaningless, the leather is skived down thin to be used as a welt
>less holes punched
Irrelevant, you need at least a few more stitches to get that necessary tension holding everything together tightly, also, if the threads are well waxed, water leakage wont be a real problem, which I doubt Whites does as their insoles usually look water-damaged

In conclusion
