Yes unfortunately iced up womens' models.
They have started selling a 36mm variant of that hype all steel Tonda sports model, so perhaps they might release something else that'd fit better some time in the future. Depends how strong the wind change blows. But then again, it would cost significantly more at that point and PF are exceptional value at the moment. AP doubled from 1B to 2B for one simple reason:
They did what rolex should fucking do and cut out all the cuntish shark dealers.
Boutique only, controlled by them directly so they keep all the riches themselves, fuck the middleman.
Mind you it was likely a lot easier for them to pull something like that off compared with the gargantuan task rolex would have in reining in that whole entrenched worldwide network of official dealers and shadow dealers and then destroying them.

guy says the constellation is a friend's and wants ~$880usd firm, and the middle date seamaster he's offering for $650

are these good prices?
what else should I look out for?
I like that seamaster.

he also has an old grand seiko for $50 bucks, lol.

Whether it's "worth" it is up to you . Many collectors don't want refinished things because often the person doing it makes it look like anus. Generally however they are valued less and the prices should reflect that. That's why you should look online to compare prices and models. If you like it and want it you'll buy it. However have a good look at the dials to see if there's a sloppy, thick, paint job and look at the cases and crowns to see how badly they've been polished. If you see details rubbed away by some tard and buffing wheel compared with an un-restored example again the price should reflect that.
Crowns: with vintage watches the crowns are often replaced. Don't want to buy an example where the original is supposed to have a signed (logo'd) crown and yours doesn't because it's some random spare someone scrounged in their bits box for, or the logo has been rubbed away by the tard at the polishing wheel.

>> No.17688166

>>17688162
And of course hands. There'll be some online old catalog references for these omegas somewhere. Check to see if the hands that are supposed to come on these models are on the examples you're looking at buying, otherwise again it's some watch repairer scrounging around for hands that aren't original.
When buying vintage watches you have to do your homework. If you can't be bothered to do that just buy it if you like it.
I don't recommend doing that, but it's your money.

I have a SBGF021 from 2007 and it's a mixed bag
Pros:
>solid endlinks
>nice milled clasp with the GS branding
>comfortable and stylish bracelet
Cons
>split pins instead of screws
>no micro adjust, only the option of half links

I think the newer releases have moved up from the split pins but the lack of adjustment remains.

Up until the early 90s their pens were GOAT. Then they forgot how to make nibs that actually write well. Now, owning one demonstrates that you only bought it for the name.

In many ways, the fountain pen industry suffered in the same way as the mechanical watch industry. The biro/ballpoint made fountain pens obsolete, so the fountain pens shifted to becoming luxury objects.
At the same time, because the majority of fountain pen buyers only know how to write with ballpoints, the fountain pens' nibs had to be made stiffer so customers don't destroy their pens. This also made the fountain pens write worse.

Oh, wait, you were talking about Montblanc watches? Yeah, they're crap. They tried to hack their legitimacy when bought a legendary movement maker (Minerva) but the watches are all shit.

No, they are bad. They are stiff as nails and so to make them less scratchy, they overpolish the tips.
They're quite literally designed to impress people who've only ever written with ballpoints in the store when they try one out.
>Golly gee, this is so smooth!
Those people are used to applying huge pressure to the pen, even when they think they're writing lightly.

A good nib has flex and bounce, and feedback. On the paper, it should feel almost like a very sharp pencil: letting you know you're writing, but offering no resistance.
Nu-Montblanc just feels like writing with a blunt needle on a pane of glass.

The Italians, particularly Aurora, still make good nibs, but suffer from typically Italian QC. The Japanese as well, though their nibs are set up for the Japanese way of holding a pen, not the European way.

That's entirely subjective to you at this moment. I agree on this preference, but know of people that want a stiff, smooth boring ass nib.
Back in the day these nibs were called Manifold nibs. Pelikan and MB called them KB's aka "ballpoint/tips" and they were for pushing down hard on triplicate paper. They weren't bad nibs; they wrote. But they were characterless by design.
I no longer buy Aurora unless someone's custom ground or tuned it. 10+ years ago? They were flawless. Now they're more "Italian" than ever. Shame.

Depends on the condition of the watch.
You can find safe queens, watches that weren't worn more than a few times at most for a fraction of the retail value, or even the gray market value.

I've bought "used" watches that still had all their protective stickers on it and the strap still in a separate, sealed plastic bag, like how watches come from the factory before being loaded into their presentation boxes.
