Asking again:

I'm looking for a watch with a dark green/brown/tan case and dial color. Chronograph or not but with a simple tool watch design.

40mm MAYBE 42mm size maximum but prefer less
<=300€
Mechanical or Quartz I don't care as long as the movement isn't total garbage.

Should be from an okay company and not a fashion or rando brand´with questionable quality.

So far the best thing I found was a brown Hamilton Khaki Field but the ~600€ for it seem too much for what it is.

Asians embraced the big watch meme over the past 15 years more than any other region. Panerai was king. It was an absolute joke.
Even though panerai is dead, its dinnerplate shadow lives on.
Time will tell whether or not the asians with their tiny, hairless wrists will bend to the fashions that are re-normalizing by the West. The large Jap companies, run by conservative boomers with little imagination, will not be so quick to abandon the large watch trend as in their eyes they've basically only just started doing it.

I tried on the Exp1 and the new 40mm Exp1 a day ago. 6.5" wrist. The 40mm looks good, but the lug length doesn't fit my wrist.
I suggest the Exp1. for the one watch, or a very casually looking variant of DJ. Perhaps from the last generation. No fluted bezels, no jubilee bracelet. Domed/oyster dark dial.
Both options would be relatively bland, but not out of place no matter what you wear. Doesn't draw attention like a maxed out DJ.
I myself am torn between a new Explorer 1 or a 5digit no date or date sub which fit a 6.5 wrist fine. If I were to go DJ it'd be the works: fluted/jubilee etc. But that's not casual enough for me, too sparkly, whereas the Explorer 1 is basically a tarted up field watch. Field watches tarted up or no are prime one-only watches. If you're looking beyond rolex then look for more field style watches for an everyday imo. Divers and all that are less versatile with that sporty bezel.

I at first thought so too and preferred a date window but this other way gives you a visual indicator of how much of the month you have left or how long you have left until a certain deadline. Seeing the date in an aperture is quicker for comprehension, just like digital time is, but analog of either gives a more tangible understanding of how much time has passed or how much time you have left until a future point.
I noted that a date hand meant I was more inclined to indolence and to putting tasks off for later because of that physical distance on the dial between the hand and the target date.
That simple
>I've got until the hand gets all the way over there before I have to bother to start worrying about X
got me. Wore it on holiday and it was great, never felt rushed.
Wore it whilst working and it fucked me over a bit because I was retarded and it was February and it slipped my mind that at one point the hand would have to be shifted 4 places clockwise and I didn't have as much time as I'd initially thought. With a date window I'd probably not have been lulled into this sense of having extra time.
Wearing a digital watch during crunch time is preferable of you want to feel extra rushed ime

Go on rolex and use their configurator; it shows all possible combinations they currently offer. The one in that pic's ref. is probably 126200. Within that ref. number you can get any permutation of dial color/variant and any bracelet type. But change the bezel to fluted or make it twotone in either yellow or rose gold and the ref. # changes.
What AD's get seems to be a lucky dip. Who knows how they decide on this shit as there's too many DJ combinations to even consider keeping all kinds in stock. Maybe you can go to one and request a specific combination. I think may have been possible a few years ago. I doubt so now.

Neither of those things matter. Omega, Tudor, and Rolex are basically completely machine finished and BP has extensive hand finishing. It’s really that simple. All you have to do is look at a BP movement versus the others and it’s extremely obvious. It’s not a knock on the other brands, plenty of Fifty Fathoms will run you $19k or so new when you can get a Sub for $10k or a Seamaster for $8k. They’re different market segments.

It's a $50 watch sold $250. The "bio ceramic" is a marketing ploy and is just composite plastic. It's super light and plasticky, just like most other Swatches, so it feels like a toy, NOT like an Omega. The scratch bracelet will last 1 or 2 years top, the battery 2 years (lmao) and the rest of the watch 5 years if you're wearing it daily, and it will quickly look like shit. And the final nail in the coffin is the 3 ATM WR, which means you're at risk of getting fog inside it by simply sneezing on it. Think about what you could get for $250 instead of that trash.

I want a pantydropper watch, so I'm heavily considering getting a DateJust in decent condition. I ususally see them go for anywhere between 6-800,000, although I have seen one really nice one for sale at 1,500,000.

The old 1120 caliber, aka an ETA 2892, you could wear for 20 years and not give a shit about and it's an easy fix for any retard with tools, unlike this mutilated and trannified Daniels co-axial that needs a microscope to service.

Higher beat rate only really achieves something meaninful at 36000, so you can have a chronograph with tents o seconds.

Anything else, doesnt matter. In fact lower beat rates give you better power reserves (all the rest equal) and higher durability. Suposedly you lose accuracy, but isnt always the case.

is this true or is anon full of shit? my grandpa had seiko 5 that he wore every day for 30 or 40 years. never had it serviced until it stopped working, had it fixed for cheap and it's still running. i find it hard to believe that coaxial omega or any non complicated more expensive automatic movement wouldnt exceed that
i might be wrong here, but i would rather not service watch at all as long as it works, than to service it every 5-10 years. i think, unless it is done by someone who does it with insane amount of care like patek, they are far more likely to make damage and introduce dust and dirt particles to the case and movement

if you don't service an expensive in house movement and it eats itself to the point of needing to replace the movement, that's gonna cost you possibly more than what you would have paid for 2-3 services during the usage that would have kept it in good condition

I have no issue with the 25k beat, after all Patek, VC, AP, Lange etc., use it or lower. I don't like however the reason why it had to lowered in the Omega co-axials. It bespeaks of a company going full sunk cost into an escapement they should've abandoned early on once they realized, like Patek did before them, that Daniels' escapement only works as intended in Daniels' and Smith's watches. It smells of desperation, of clinging to something seemingly unique they could market the hell out of to try to compete with Rolex when they could've achieved the same or better without it. Clingy desperation isn't very luxurious.

It's definitely not 1:1, the finitions on the legit titanium and MRG G-shocks are flawless. On the mod kits, not so much, but that's alright, you get what you're paying for (I can't upload pics rn but it's not perfect).

QRD me on the MrG that looks like a 5600. Why does it cost 4 grand? Is there a custom module inside or is it all just the window dressing with the same basif internals?

Here, yes. In the real world, no.
It started as a more luxurious Submariner style watch. Now, the precious metal 42mm versions on the rubber are Rolex’s equivalent of an APROO or Big Bang.

The internals are the same, you just get high grade titanium in a hand polished multipart design.

Those ones ? The modules just have Bluetooth (that you probably won't use if you can reliably catch the atomic clock signal) over the classic 5610 functions like multiband 6 and tough solar. So you're paying $3900 for an admittedly very nice looking body kit.

The big numbers on the dial look toyish to me but I would get it if I had the wrists for it.

Thanks. I went past the casio boutique at a mall and they had these in a glass case. Saw the price and noped out of there.

The older versions on the rose gold models were rose gold coated in ceramic. I don't know what the new ones use for the bezel.

What determines if you get an oiled one or not? Is it a social credit score thing?

The new one does have a titanium bezel but the black coating on it is still ceramic so you'll scratch the case or side of the bezel but not the front.

I can't blame you. I believe Casio should create a high end titanium line around $1k, and keep the crazy prices for limited editions MRG like the Gassan. I KNOW it is probably overpriced (costs about the same as a Speedmaster) and probably looks tacky to most people, but I still love it. At least it's truely special.

They’re also Xbox huge. Doesn’t matter how much handcraft has gone into it, it still looks like a child’s toy.
