May go for this kind of style soon (layered/feathered cut). Already have vanilla long hair, and it tends to be puffy. What I remember from having shorter hair is waking up and not being able to correct "morning hair" without washing it again. I'll be travelling a lot so I won't be able to do that (also I tend to use a minimal amount of products).

So how high-maintenance will this be? I also know I won't be able to do a ponytail, I'll have strands all over my face.

Those are my main two worries, but I'm tired of the ponytail. I'll be cutting it anyway soon.

If I shower before going out it takes 1-2 hours to air dry but apart from that I just put a little coconut fat/wax (I'm not sure what it iis) in. Make your hair wet, take the shampoo and massage it good on your scalp and let it sit for a few minutes on your scalp while you wash the rest of your body and then wash it out. Do this 1 or 2 times a week, depends on how your outbreak is. You can also use a neutral shampoo inbetween your washes with Nizoral.

I tend to do the Search & Destroy method, and every few months I do trim the dead ends and breakage off in one fell swoop, but one day later, all the breakage is back like I never even cut it.
I use Mielle Rosemary & Mint Oil, plus I take fin because I fear the norwood reaper. I bought a satin bonnet for sleeping a month ago, but after the night, my bed tends to look like a warzone, so I don't know if it's helping much. I also braid it most nights, but sometimes I'm too lazy and just put it all in the bonnet as is, and it ends up getting slightly matted as a result.
For better or worse I wash it once a week with Palmer's Coconut Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, because I don't really do much except for the weekends.

From the back, I think mine is around the middle of my back to around my waist, it's hard to tell because it's got floof, most likely due to the fact that it's curly (and I wish it wasn't) and I love feeling it blow around in the wind when I go outside. Don't feel the same way about detangling, but it is relaxing sometimes.

Coal/pine tar shampoo every 2-3 days, others just "cold" water (maybe its 24-27c here in sea, not really cold I guess) . For drying, I use microfibre towel and squeeze my hair gently to get the water out, finger comb them a bit to detangle and towel wrap (without the hair twist method since its curling my hair too much). I'll wear the wrap for about 10-15 minutes and air dry or if I'm in a rush I blast my hair (mostly aiming at the scalp) with the table fan on low after the finger comb part. I mostly wear loose manbun (dont wanna advance that norwood from the traction/tight bun) since the hair keeps on stabbing my eyes.

Unfortunately, I don't have an updated pic but, I can try to take one when I get my hands on a camera. Nowadays it's just slightly below waist level, a couple cm. It's reached a point where it's taking a lot longer too see any substantial growth. If you care to know, it took me around 6 years to go from completely bald to the length you see in the pic from 2 years ago.
