With a fragrance name like "Sundowner", it becomes very apparent that it is supposed to be worn on summer evenings. Fragrantica reviewers just never test fragrances in the summer once they have decided they are for the winter. Some stuff gets straight up awesome during the summer and is absolutely worth wearing, even though the average fragrantica user would get an aneurysm if you told them that.

I'm not hating on your choice but I really don't get Eros. Every youtube frag vid is hyping it, 9/10 times it comes out on top of every other frag, women love it, etc. I think these tests are flawed however, because 1) women don't know what the fuck they want, 2) fragrances smell different on paper and skin (not to mention various skin types), 3) on these tests the fragrances are smelt immediately upon spraying, without drydown. Everytime I go to the store to try out fragrances it's always an 'eh' reaction from Eros. It's nothing interesting, nothing stands out and I think Dylan blue is a lot better. I'll give it 1 more try and I'll literally go in there and try just Eros EDT, Eros EDP and Eros Parfum (3 sprays each) on different spots of my skin and walk around the mall a bit to test it out.

I like Musc Ravageur, but similar to most scents in this category, I don’t see myself aligning with the Type-A personality and blunt intent needed to enjoy what this offers more than once or twice a year, meaning that for me, this isn’t a full bottle purchase. Penhaligon’s Endymion (2003) would offer a lighter, more manageable version of this experience, with much less projection and a more finite lifespan, at less than half the cost to boot, so if you feel Musc Ravageur is a bit too much, then that is the route to take. As for everyone else, if you’re looking for a high-end, over-the-top sweaty oriental cream chowder parading around as a funky musk, this is the dog that’ll hunt, just be kind with your sprays, as a little goes a very long way. Keep this one to winter time and do not torture your coworkers by showing up to the office smelling like a musky husky pretty please, although if you work outside, I guess it’s okay to wear, I just definitely see this as a fragrance meant to help you “score”. Some say original 2000 vintage is even stronger than the better-mannered new production I’m smelling, and that’s a legend I frankly don’t want to test. Hats off to Maurice Roucel, you got us real good with this one, and you would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for those meddling kids and their dog.

I have just full bottled Poudre Impériale Sous le Manteau and it is an incense of my dreams, with an amazing performance and a slight chrysanthemum impression if sprayed on clothes. Slightly scared of sperging into one scent profile only to end up mostly wearing one frag out of the bunch.

I've never tried it but there is a good chance you are noseblind it happens easily if you spray it on yourself.
Could also need to macerate because a lot of those middle eastern fragrances are not aged like mainstream ones are.

I think you can just go for one of the ebay offers, it's a pretty cheap frag to begin with and a lot of people blind buy theirs and then want to get rid of it when they discover it's nothing like their favorite dior sauvage

You're at the point where it would be the easiest to just visit a store and sniff their selection. They have paper strips where you can easily test a fragrance and if you think you like it you can test it on your skin. Should be possible to find 3-4 interesting fragrances that you can then spray onto your wrists/elbows and wear them for a while to see which one is your favorite. Try to find stuff from the various categories of the chart/flowchart or the nice cheapies pastebin, even though not all of them might be available everywhere.
