I ended up with this one and like it a lot. Kind of so tired of looking at computers I just hit on sale and this one popped up for the bag.

It's good for day to day or even a few day trip. It's hard to show the whole bag in one picture. It comes with a little laundry bag, the bottom part is designed for a pair of sneakers. The two main compartments are a good size. Fits 15.6" laptop, tablet, pretty good organization.

honestly not sure, however much allows it to still be a size that can be carried on to airplane, I think that's normally around 30L?
I'm basically looking for a decent looking backpack that I can use around the city without looking ridiculous but also hop on a plane and be functional enough to go up a mountain with (but probably not overnight, I don't expect it to fit a tent, sleeping bag, mats, etc.)

I should add that when I say waterproof, I don't mean one of those hardcore waterproof that you can go kayaking with, but just something that can withstand some rain, so I guess water resistant would be more accurate

That said, nothing about it is particularly "good" and the design is really just dull to me. It is certainly about function and quality over anything else. Looks okay, does have a side entry on the back, but if you haven't had a rolltop before you might want to plqy with one in a store, you might think it feels less accessible for frequently grabbing small items and it really depends on how you want to use the bag, it also doesn't have small external pockets which might be fine but you might also miss having them for quick acesd to things like pens and a notepad, chargers or other small things you grab frequently.

i have the larger 3-Day Assault Pack

this bag is overbuilt with absolutely no consideration for weight--it's heavy and cumbersome.
their consumer bags may be more modernized than the ones made more for military applications.
i like the bag, but it's not that great as a daily bag for normal people.

take a look at https://tripleaughtdesign.com/
the Axiom may interest you. probably sold out, but you can usually find one on ebay

my daily bag is a failson ripstop, i like the big pouch pockets it lets me carry a lot more small shit and keeps things organized. the flap pocket expands to be huge if i need to carry something big or pack for a few days worth of clothes. the waterproof goretex is nice too. only downside i can think of is no water bottle side netting or a hole to fit a camelbak straw through. overall a good multipurpose bag imo

Lads I'm at the end of my rope here, still haven't found a backpack
Asking for recs for one last time, will try to be as specific as possible:
Under 200 EUR
30L
Roll top or top flap with drawcord (something that isn't just zip so I can load it up more if I need to)
Ventilated back
Water 'resistant'
Laptop compartment
Sternum strap and preferably also hip belt
To be used for commute/travel/hiking (so needs to be able to be carried onto an airplane)
That's all, I think
pls help a brother out

damn, that's pretty much as perfect as I've seen so far, even has external side pockets for bottles that I forgot to specify as a requirement
Only problem is that it's a 20L bag that expands fully to 29L, so it's a bit small, I'd prefer something closer to 30L without expanding
>>17635724
