Are they attractive? I think so but when i googled opinions about it alot of girls seemed to not find it attractive and it made them think of salesmen.
Am i autistic?

>> No.17609233

Polos only work if you have a very ripped upper body and even then you look like a highschool gym teacher at best. They turn masculine lines cartoonish.

>> No.17609237

They're like the tattoo of shirts. They won't ever make you more attractive, in many cases they could make you unattractive, but especially if you're already very attractive, they won't ALWAYS make you unattractive.

The association with golf boomers, best buy salesman, and other soulless pitiable people has basically made them untouchable for most people who care how they look, so wearing one is basically like saying you don't give a shit how you look. If you're a certain kind of person, that can be a flex, but usually it's just a bad thing.

Polos are acceptable when playing a sport in place of a tshirt and nothing more. An ocbd is all you need unless you are wearing a suit

>Are they attractive?
Yes, when worn correctly and appropriately. They need to be well fitting and you should preferably have a masculine body type as the polo is meant to highlight your natural figure. When worn incorrectly you'll look like a salesman or just autistic. Always remember that it is, in essence, a business casual short sleeved shirt, so don't wear it with anything you wouldn't match with a typical shirt. If you want to impress girls get one with a name brand logo and they're guaranteed to like it.
>Am i autistic?
Probably, and if you wear a polo like a sperg you'll look like a quintessential special eds kid that doesn't buy his own clothes. Do it right and your autism will be chalked up to working in a highly specialized field with an impressive income.

Hope this helps.

>business casual short sleeved shirt
lol it was designed to play tennis in, and then was also adopted by polo players, later becoming a general sport shirt. Its an upper class t shirt, not “business causal” lmao holy shit

>what does casual mean?
No shit that's the history of the polo. Doesn't change the over all aesthetic you sperg.

>> No.17609287

>>17609273
Also, wtf do you think those tennis and polo players were trying to emulate with the design? Have you ever seen a sports polo today? Completely different fabric and fit. Nobody wears typical polos for sport's tournaments, not even golf.

Yeah; it’s a tshirt, which you think is acceptable to wear to work because you’re a low level wagie with a uniform. Embarrassing, really

An item's original intent has little to no effect on it's current use/perception. Listerine was originally used as a surgical antiseptic and as a floor cleaner, but it is now used as a breath freshener.
The current perception of collared shirts is mixed, however no one views them as sports shirts other than specifically for golfing. It is now only seen as a wagie shirt, as a shirt yuppies wear, or by those who aren't at all paying attention to fashion as a business casual shirt. If your work had business casual attire, there would most certainly be people wearing these shirts and literally no one would think twice other than your autistic ass.
To be fair, I wouldn't personally wear them as a business casual option, not only because I don't typically like them but because I don't view them as business casual myself, but I also don't dictate social norms.

Polos used to be cool, beginning with tennis, spreading to prep, then the poors took it, since they were ready made and gave the ability to appear ever so slightly less casual while still easily covering meatsacks without special fitting. Proles completely appropriated this so now polyester polo shit with a logo is basically a uniform for telephone salesmen, yard "experts" and confused pajeets

Best avoided.

so don't wear these "forbidden" types then idiot. there are plenty of vintage polos that people can find.

It's an attractiveness filter
Polos look extremely good on fit people, and bad on unfit people, be it skellies or fatties
If you're a lean mogger with 18" arms it's gonna accentuate your masculine physique. Similar to sexcore but more laid back, but it's the same people (sois that you would see in a r/mfa waywt) hating on them

Would a button down linen shirt work for you? It's usually what i wear during the summer months. I have an irrational haters for polos though. I think they're incredibly ugly and shouldn't be worn by adults.

I think polos are swell. Nothing looks good if your waist circumference exceeds that of your chest's, if scrawny and feeble or if fat. Clothing can't beat a regimen of exercise. Exercise can't beat a proper diet. Diet can't beat genetics.
