So today I went inside Sephora and started trying fragrances. I hated most of them, but then I saw Phlur, and interestingly, noticed that one particular sample was almost ran dry, while the others still had plenty fluid in them:

Missing Person

Never heard of the brand nor product before today, and I thought to myself, "Hm, this must be trending." And sure enough, it is continuously sold out.

Anyway, I tried it on not knowing what to expect, and I immediately felt, "This is it." It isn't obnoxious, it isn't childish or try-hard, it smells like the future. I bought one (came out to $104 iirc with tax) and I'm going to be trying it out for the foreseeable future.

They reformulated trench. It's a fucking disgrace. Old one lasted all day and then some, graced my nostrils with fresh iris goodness. A fucking shame. Maybe it will masticate in the bottle and change here soon. It better. Santal noble is the same triumph of sandalwood reference grade wonderfulness. Rosae mvndi is still the same baroque masterpiece thank God. It's just so damn good. Although I will say it's a bit rosier, and not so DANK green as maybe the last one. So maybe it did change a little. But still so damn good.

If you love a bottle, go out right now and buy a few backups. Companies will break your heart with reforms.

Perfumes usually isn't well received in Japan, if it projects too much it's considered rude and being someone who "can't read the room". So anything that sits close to the skin should do the trick.

If you want to splurge then the European niche brand Fueguia 1833 is super popular there for some reason. Maybe it's because of their minimalist style and the usage of highly unique natural materials. Pricing is quite exorbitant but there are alot of gems if you're willing to test the whole range out.

Can I get a quick rundown on this fragrance?

>> No.17603403

>>17603385
Hombre is a fragrance for sexy man, real seducer, temperamental Spanish guy. Its creators, Victorio & Lucchino, wanted to present their first fragrance for men in a different way, by hiring sensual Miguel Angel Silvestre – young, popular Spanish actor.

Composition of this edition is very interesting and intriguing! Top notes are composed of orange tree bark, citrus fruit, orange blossom and cardamom. Indonesian patchouli was added as ultimate aphrodisiac to give sophisticated note to the whole composition.

Miguel Angel is wearing dark blue velvet jacket in advertising photos, which is a perfect combination with flacon design, which suggests union of the modern and the traditional. The flacon is round with a sliver stopper and reminds of pocket watch. It is engraved on its edges and decorated with white ornaments around name of the perfume. Victorio & Lucchino Hombre is presented to the market in October 2009.

Le Male was genuinely just really popular with gay guys, and still is. It's like the more modern kouros in that sense

>> No.17603575

>>17603056
It's the bottle. It has nothing to do with any of the fragrances of the Dior Homme line. It's just the "beginning" of modern fougeres, where coumarin plays a more important role than oakmoss (which both have since been IFRA-regulated and there seems to be no good replacement for coumarin yet). It was THE fragrance in my youth, around the mid-2010s, despite being on the market for a while already. It was the Sauvage of fragrances, you either had it or you didn't. You can tell when people say "it was for gay guys" that they really don't go out much, because it was for "all guys". 1 Million later tried to steal its thunder and I guess it kinda worked, it made SUPERsweet shit mainstream. Current Le Male reformulation is okay at best, still worth testing at a store, but I'd also recommend Le Male Le Parfum at this point.

It's not my fault that you wasted your youth in your basement instead of going out. Don't project your anger at that into fragrances, that just reads very weird. You would have smelled Le Male in many heterosexual contexts (unless you actively avoid those, which is a real possibility based on your knowledge of what smells gay). In case you smelled it at your local "bar", I will once again remind you: It was the Sauvage of its day and every guy wore it, likely regardless of sexuality. In any case, it's not too late for you - socialize a little, find out what people actually wear, get close to someone. It might help you a lot.

Gentlemen, I would appreciate suggestions for office-tier every day perfumes. Not too basic/Axe body spray, though.

My current lineup for non-office functions (daytime) is:
Replica Sailing Day
Acqua di Parma Bergamotto

For office I now use:
Replica Rains
Chanel de Bleu
And picked up Hermes Givré recently.

For private eveningwear I use Replica Jazz Club.

Loved the smell of Penhaligons Lord George, but bit expensive.

What are your favourite fresh rose fragrances?

I got a few Halloween fragrances, these are amazing for price in terms of scent, performance is kinda meh.

Halloween Man is very sweet but still clean and not cloying. Fades quickly into just a faint powder though. Still, I used an 1.5ml sample over a few days just using it on my wrist and smelling myself mostly.

Halloween Man X is less enjoyable but more interesting to me. It has some freshness, but it's mostly very sweet (like stronger with you almost) and there's the coffee note hiding somewhere there occasionally hitting you. Performance seems meh, although it feels like it's going to be strong.

Halloween Man Shot is supposedly close to LNDL. I've only tried LNDL a few times, I liked it the first time enough to put it on my list of things I need to get, and disliked it the second time. I loved LNDL Bleu Electrique at least in the opening.
This has some similarities but I don't think it's spot on LNDL. I think I prefer it to the second batch of LNDL I've smelt. I prefer Bleu Electrique (and Guess Seductive Homme Blue which is similar as well) to this, but it's still very enjoyable and probably a people pleaser, and performance seems the best out of the 3 I tested.

I can easily recommend them to anyone for the price.

Yeah sure, I believe you. It's just that I was at parties myself and my experience doesn't match yours at all. Cool Water was already a dad frag in the 00s, you should know that if you're trying to talk "from experience". Your "partying" frags are classic examples of frags who got thoroughly mogged by Le Male, because you couldn't smell them anymore once you arrived at any club and because Le Male was that much stronger. Completely new to frags and in the market to get started with something nice. I've subsisted off of gifts of cologne my whole life up until now, despite otherwise being very particular about my style, and figured it was time to look into it. Problem is I live in Florida, so it isn't as seasonally varied for changing/specific scents as it is "hot or rainy". On top of that I'm a much more indoors kind of person, but even light exposure to the outside causes a lot of sweating and overpowering scents when dressing moderately /fa/ even on most evenings, kek. There is of course personal preference to account for.

So keeping to criteria from the sticky
>Age late 20's - early 30's
>Hot climate, little seasonal variation but prefer fall-ish scents
>"Entry level", preferably around $50 - $100 if I really love it
>More fall scents, but the floral musk or woody floral from the chart on top sounds good, the Floris scents sounded good. Rose, woods, leathers, deeper sensual scents to stand out and fit my style/environs more
>Generally dressier aesthetics, higher-class buttoned shirts worn loose, suits, etc., want something for kind of catch-all use that's long lasting but subtler since I spend time in close quarters a lot (office and work in the arts, but not trying to overpower)

Most recent fragrance I had been given that worked well was Guy Fox Marra, which was primarily Bergamot, Black Pepper, and Rosemary, which fit well but it faded fast and I'm looking for something more suited.

Any suggestions?

oh yeah, the scent of the vintage is much more pungent out of the bottle, but neither lasts longer than 4-5 hours. i could honestly probably live with the reformulation given that fresh, brilliant opening is a big part of what caught my attention in the first place with eau sauvage. the vintage definitely feels more like the heart notes of the reformulation amplified, though there’s also a pretty good chance that it’s because the citrus top notes in my bottle have gone off.

not sure if this fully fits here, but what do you all do in terms of bodywash/soap/etc in the shower to generally smell good, pre-any extra fragrance perfume stuff?

3 sprays seems to be the average amount of sprays for the community. Where do you guys apply these three sprays? I personally do 1 on the back of my neck and two on the side of my neck, I was thinking about changing it to 2 on the back of my ears and 1 spray on my neck, opinions?

1-2 on clavicle, and a single spray on each wrist. No rubbing.

if i’m going out and about and not staying at my desk i’m really fond of wrist sprays, your hands move around enough that they really help with projection and random wafts of fragrance.

I’ll have to try the edc and shave balm. Does the shave balm feel good on the skin? I typically use pure witch hazel after my shave. It’s cheap and good for the skin. I shave everyday

To my taste smells and feels awesome, lefting the skin with a great hydration feeling. I shave everyday (but saturday) too. Just try. The balm smell goes ok with floral soapy fragrances like The Dreamer, not just Tabac.
