Casual chino?
I just bought a pair of Banana Republic “lived in” chinos. I was impressed by them.
They are like 98% cotton and 2% some kind of synthetic material. Slim fit.
Idk about a more proper/dressed chino. I tried on a brooks brothers chino and felt like tents were on my legs. I’m just a small guy so I feel like I only look right with slimer fits.

- light beige Hugo Boss suit,
- white Polo Ralph Lauren shirt,

If you've got the paper for it then mercer & sons can make you a shirt with whichever of their collars you prefer. Idk about shorts though. (ctrl+f linen)
http://www.mercerandsons.com/swatches_and_pricing-solids.htm
For shorts, you can use the link below to search:
https://oconnellsclothing.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?p=1&q=linen
All I could find was one pair of true shorts but the only sizes left are for fat people. You could call them and ask when they re-stock though. Otherwise if you really want some you could get a pair of linen trousers and get them made into shorts... A rather expensive route though.

i would not even bother hating on this person.

i've been (against my better judgement) following this guy for a while and i can tell you without a shadow of a doubt he hates himself more than you could probably hope to. I have never seen someone with such a profound self-loathing, not in the history of this entire board. He hates his appearance, he hates his body, and sometimes not even his autistic obsession with looking like some le quirky tumblr supervillain can keep him from admitting to being totally defeated by this self-hate.
it's not like he's even internalized any of the mean things people have said about him, from what i can tell it all comes from the tranny-esque chasm between his ideal aesthetic and the dysgenic, shrunken ghoul he actually is. He hates who he really is, because he's a jobless, hobbyless loser with no friends, so he instead tries to be his own autistic original character and cope it away.

i mean, how the fuck else could someone develop a fashion sense like that, if not being so detached from normalcy or a real a social circle for his entire life such that his fashion sense forms in a complete void, informed only by the shitty cartoons and tv shows he likes to watch? I'd even be willing to theorize that he's so high on copium he genuinely has delusions of grandeur and thinks he's gonna be some sort of wacky supervillain someday. But he's also somewhat aware of how ridiculous this is so he's willing to settle for being a widely hated lolcow so he can get his ego rocks off while continuing to be a total worthless nobody in real life. Like most zoomers he sees the world as negligible and peripheral to whatever kind of chickenshit notoriety or persona he can manufacture on the internet.

In fact, this may be why he's even still here to begin with. He's so desperate to construct a persona and an identity that has any relation to people in real life, that if his existence is acknowledged by anyone with any consistency, even people who hate him like most of /fa/ does, he'll latch onto it and keep it going so he can feel like he's relevant to some sort of narrative in which he's a main character and not just a random fuck in a sea of random fucks. This is the core of the lolcow mindset and i would not be surprised if he ends up with a kiwifarms thread.

If doug is reading this, I genuinely hope you fuck off and leave /fa/ forever, for your own good.
Sell your shitty party city suits, buy some loose fitting normcore shit, and hit the gym.
theres nothing for you here, and your fashion autism is getting in the way of you pursuing an authentic, well lived life. Don't put the cart before the horse. A person is only ever "effay" if they have an interesting life to justify how they dress. you are not going to be a supervillain, or a rockstar, or an internet celebrity.

You have nothing to offer the world and no skills (as far as i know), and hey, maybe that can change, maybe you will be important to some small amount of people, if you're lucky more, after years of practice and hard-work.
Then and only then will you have earned any right to dress like you do.

And by that time, you will have matured enough to dress like a real human being, you'll have figured out your place in the world and how someone like you ought to dress. But you can't do that if you're a nobody, and right now, you are nobody. You're a stupid outfit with nothing behind it.

For everyone else, stop giving him attention and feeding into his brain disease.

basically ex-tripfag semi-regular who tries to dress in a le-wacky version of /tip/ but fails miserably because he has no money, and he's also hated for posting his godawful fits in these threads which eventually turns in to a back-and-forth derailing where people shit on him and he tries to retort with some psuedo-intellectual excuse or just straight up antagonizing people.

I figure a full leather briefcase/shoulder bag deal is going to be too tryhard especially since I'm not bringing a laptop or anything other than one or two copies of my portfolio and paper for my notes and questions, so these padfolio things seem like a better option but I can't decide what features I want- namely whether I want a 3 ring binder style or a more simple cover for a notepad

I'm erring on the side of a binder so I can have relevant documents or info about each company printed out with me in something nicer than a loose stack, but I'm having trouble finding a sub $400 real leather portfolio like that pic that has the binder rings but minimal pockets and shit on the left cover

I'm interested in these blucher mocs as I am trying to incorporate more /tip/ into my wardrobe, especially for fall/winter. I'm sure they'd work with everything from a t shirt and shorts to an ocbd, sweater and chinos, but are they too informal to wear with something like a navy blazer or wool pants? The next tier up is something like loafers or derbies but I've always hated the look of loafers with jeans, and derbies... meh.

The pants are too brightly colored and don't match your skintone. I get you're trying to get a good contrast with the pink polo but at a certain point too much, especially bright, contrast makes you look like a cartoon character, cheap halloween costume or just a clown.

A more natural shade of green could still make for a good contrast without you looking like a fairy godparent

The 2% material isn't to save on the amount of cotton used, it's to substitute the wicking and breathability that you would get from using higher quality cotton. Cotton quality really matters; I wouldn't buy clothing from an online retailer without knowing where the cotton's sourced from.

Kind of surprised, I figured olive goes well with navy, tan and red.

I do like the colors pallette of your fit though. Do you know the name for that particular shade of brown? It goes perfectly with navy but it's hard to find pants in that shade since "brown" covers a very wide range.

The more durable the fabric, the more permeable you can make the weaves. That's part of why silk is a such breathable material; the fabric is incredibly durable, so you can make a more permeable weave. Handpicked cotton (Egyptian) hasn't been through the same stresses as regular machine-picked cotton, making it both softer and more durable. Therefore, if the manufacturer is skilled, you can create a much more permeable weave than with regular cotton. Of course this depends on the manufacturer, and increased permeability in a garment doesn't always lead to higher breathability. But generally, higher quality cottons are more breathable than cheaper cottons.

Recently, many mid-priced manufacturers have been incorporating synthetics into their clothing lines to try and substitute for the higher durability they would get from using higher quality fabrics. This way, there's no noticeable new changes in the design or structure of the garment when using new materials. And for their credit, the synthetics do their role quite well when used in that role. But overall, higher quality fabrics are just nicer to wear, and when I see something like "2% spandex" on a garment, I just assume the manufacturer is trying to screw me over with poor Louisiana cotton. That's not always the case though, that's why you always check the label.

>> No.17619939

>>17619927
Thanks for the info. So is Egyptian cotton -necessarily- hand picked? Or only some of it?

>> No.17619958

>>17619939
All genuine Egyptian cotton is handpicked. Egyptian cotton is special both because it's of the "extra-long" variety and because it's handpicked. Because Egypt is hot and dry (and cheap labor), it's easier to grow extra-long cotton there than in the US, where extra-long (known as Pima cotton or G. Barbadense) is only 3% of national production.

The issue is whether the "Egyptian cotton" in a garment is actually of the G. Barbadense variety. Really any cotton exported outside of Egypt can be labeled as Egyptian cotton, even if it's been blended with cheaper cottons. How impacted these mid-tier vendors are affected by counterfeit, I don't know, but it is something to seriously look out for. One great thing about buying clothing in-person is that you're able to actually feel the cotton and certify its quality.
