Thanks. I've been looking at the AE1200 for a few days since it seems like my best option, the brown-copper color looks nice. The issue is that casio has so many other nice watches. Anon is saying if you're fat, you don't know how to exercise, so you have to pay a personal trainer to teach you and pay to join a gym. You don't know how to follow a proper diet, so you have to pay a nutritionist to teach you. Lol I am a devoted athletic person and I spend an ass load of time reading papers on nutrition and exercise physiology experiments.

We're talking about a MAJOR FATASS, not someone looking to be an Olympic champion.

After reading for 9000 hours my conclusions are this:

>Eat less fatass
>Lift. Honestly for beginners it doesn't even really fucking matter what lifts you do. 10 sets per muscle group per week to near failure. Give'em a good workout. You look at a billion experiments with noobs and guess what everyone improves body comp doing almost anything basic
>Do some cardio. Something brisk. HIIT could be good too, but holy fuck we're talking about a fatass so literally doing anything is fucking fine.
>Eat a decent ass diet that's not too much food. Cut junk. Avoid pretty much any restaurant meal or any processed food. You can get really granular, but again as a megafatass it's not hard. Eat lots of vegetables, eggs, fish and lean meat, nuts, then throw in some dairy, maybe a little fruit, all while staying under calorie targets. Don't eat much sugar or empty shit.

I'm talking about athletes not the bully from your high school football team, high level athletes are almost always more intelligent than the average person, imagine thinking that the only thing you need to do to be fit is to count calories, this is your brain on fast food propaganda

>>17590502
it's not that different in the end, in both cases it takes applied theory, and discipline over time, the elite athlete is just habituated to it so more "effort" is spent on the mental effort of sustaining exact wattage over time or whatever, whereas the fatass is still getting used to the idea of eating a vegetable so they naturally talk about different things when asked what's the biggest challenge

Yeah, retards. They destroy their bodies by the time they're 40 because they're too dumb for real jobs.

The only thing you need to do to be thin is count calories. A very good level of fitness can be attained with a protein rich diet and basic cardio, both of which require no outside instruction.

The motorcycle thing is really only applicable to ones with a lot of vibration in the handlebars like American V-Twins or single-cylinder bikes at high revs. And it doesn't really "damage" them, per se, but it can make it run fast or slow while you are riding by advancing or retarding the rate at which the balance actuates and it can cause screws to come loose inside the movement.

Ya know man thanks for your post, it is relatable to me. I realized this only after going knee deep into buying these watches. I bought a lot of them because I never had any money as a kid and thought it would make me complete and bought the watches I did because it was fun at the time without much of a care for what other people thought (including the watch I posted). The watch is kinda pure to me in the sense that I bought just because I liked it and how happy it made me at the time.

Buying mechanical watches feels like a money sink and it’s full of snobbery and lot of the YouTubers and enthusiasts spend tons of money on watches for the sake of being a “watch enthusiast” even though they look pretty bad. I somewhat regret buying as many watches as I did and sold the ones I didn’t like but it was a life experience which taught me consooming doesn’t bring joy to life. I don’t really feel like buying more watches I just like looking at them these days.

>The watch is kinda pure to me in the sense that I bought just because I liked it and how happy it made me at the time.

This is how I feel about an old Orient diver I used to have. I just loved it but after getting into watches and "researching" I sold it and bought something more respectable with a swiss movement.
That was like 6 years ago and still regret giving that Orient away. I could easily buy it again but it wouldnt feel the same. It used to be pure joy.
>and thought it would make me complete
Yeah funnily enough I had that phase too. Had to have an adventurers watch to go on adventures. Had to have a dive watch for swimming etc.
I realized that I had to work on my inner demons and no consumable object can fill the void I feel inside.
Now I only own a cheap casio, an Accurist watch and a Glashütte my mom bought me.
I almost exclusively wear the Glashütte. I love it because I know my mom researched and took the time to get me something nice even though she had no idea what mechanical meant before. There's love in this watch and I'll never give it away.

Reminds me of when I was a kid and my grandma bought me a polywhirl toy when Pokémon was popular. It was never my favorite Pokémon but it was my favorite Pokémon-related possession I had because she thought of me.

Buying a watch because it will impress people with how expensive it is or how niche it is a soulless task. The people who care are insecure and obsessed with appearances. Working out and spending time with my friends, family, and cats are free and bring me more joy. Also having actual wealth and being healthy are just more practical in a logical sense.

I keep hearing this, but I've never actually seen any evidence to back it up. Just some vague stuff about static vs dynamic pressure that, while I'm sure it matters, would really only apply to actual diving at significant depths.
I'm not saying you should go swimming with any watch that claims some sort of water resistance, but I'm sure that any watch that does can at least stand to be submerged for a short time (i.e. falling into a creek, washing dishes, etc.).

The real problem is with many watch brands that have 50m or lower wster resistance ratings are just lying. Most waches rated for 5m will fill with water if you drop them in a pint glass. Etc etc
Lorus is a seiko brand so in theory its a real 50m which is more than enough. The only reason I would never buy them is their spring drive. Probably very little is interchangable and if it is it wasn't intentional. Things like gearsposts, bridges, stuff is likely built to a certain specification, length, whatever that just wouldn't work in most other positions. Its like asking if a gear inside of a Ford truck could work inside of a Chevrolet car. Maybe but probably not?

But again, stuff that breaks in the relatively few watch repair vids i've seen have been crystals, main springs, porcelain/enamel dials, indeces falling off, and bent metal parts likely from user error or dropping them. Some parts can be subbed out by third party manufacturers such as crystals, crowns, stems, gaskets, indices, hands, and maybe a few other things.

But okay, is their spring in the spring drive just not widely available either from Seiko or by a third party? Is that quartz brake super fragile and simply not possible to fix? Or are people sperging over things that aren't an issue? I'm not sure.
