I'm testing Golestan by Tauer and all I get is honey and amber, cannot smell the jasmine or the tuberose at all, and I'm a big fan of those two notes. It's sweet, dark and dense, it's good but I expected to be more airy given that everyone says the tuberose is prominent.

Definitely a winter scent , wear this in summer and you will suffocate.

I sprayed it 15 minutes ago, the opening was a bit more citrusy and shiny, I'll report back if the scent changes after a while

Cool Water is one of the most inconsistent frags out there along with Aventus. Having used 3 bottles of it i can say you should let it rest for a month or two, make sure to spray it more so air goes into it.
Also try on skin, on air it smells quite different too even when matured, very powdery in comparison to the near-ozonic when heated by skin.

I used to divide my rotation by what is before the year 2000 and what is after it. Now I separate by sweet / masculine, and then the 4 niche are also separate.

>newer ones added

Drakkar Intense I put off getting because of hearing about it being all modern. I actually really like it, the sweetness I heard about it was really overblown. Pretty serious/aggro smelling, it's not trying to be noir but they didn't go insanely modern despite the vanilla.

Cool Water Intense is like this creamy coconut thing, I get the eros comparisons but it's different enough. Completely disconnected from OG cool water though so dumb name, not that I like cool water but if you want that it's insane they named it this.

Azzaro Chrome Aqua, had a sample a long time ago that was good, sort of a shower gel-ish type of scent

Light Blue intense, sampled multiple times but didn't want to buy it for whatever reason, finally gave in. Best mainstream blue imo

Rasasi Hawas, good bubblegum tropical but not overbearing scent. I got the blue batch, performance is kind of trash but it might just be kind of a subtle scent im going nose blind quick to. People say there are no differences or that the blue batch is fine so idk.

>out of the rotation

Cyber Garden, pretty good melancholy unique plastic plant scent but it's discontinued and im not shelling out double the price to stock up on it. Gonna use it once in a blue moon

Ajimal Shiro, might go back in at some point, fruity aquatic, crazy harsh, crazy alcohol in the beginning, little bit nauseating, great performance

Light blue forever, used maybe half the bottle but really the realistic grapefruit thing gets old after a while. It is so over the top and strong, tried to go with it over intense but the normie pick is ultimately better between them

>other stuff tried recently

brute oceans, shaving cream scent but it is a cheap heavy alcohol scent, trash

azzaro chrome pure, kind of like it but need to try more, coconut sun block

>Hugo Boss #1
How's that? my bottle doesn't quite read like what people claim as the honey and floral notes are pungent, it really smells like piss urine in a good way but still.
Is that normal or is yours a good spicy aromatic?

The placement is arbitrary they get rearranged a lot.

Boss no.1 is as serious as a heart attack, you smell like the suits look, like you are going to cut someone off in a business meeting and scream at them in german. It does have a touch of piss, it is pungent, it will make you gag a little bit if you are like me. But it's pure professional , it isn't kouros or some untamed crazy smell, just strong and refined. Does not smell like any of the other old school scents in the lineup, I get brought back to it.

Smell a grapefruit, that is light blue forever, there is nothing else to it. Just raw splattered distilled grapefruit. Forget the other notes honestly

That is mont blanc individuel, went without it for 2 years but ultimately just missed it and needed it. Lasts so long, deafening warm sweetness. Tried JOOP because of the comparisons, and I do get why it's similar but found that fucking disgusting

>Smell a grapefruit, that is light blue forever, there is nothing else to it. Just raw splattered distilled grapefruit. Forget the other notes honestly
I’ll push back on that a bit, I had a sample of forever last week that evolved a lot on me over the day
Obv the opening was super grapefruit, but from there the violet/ozone took the sourness and gave it a heavier body
Went through a slightly melon-y? phase after that, and by the end of the day I was getting mostly patchouli
Honestly wish it stayed all citrus on me, I loved that part

HELP ME FIND MORE FAVS

I REALLY LOVE TERRE d'HERMES (edt & edp), MITSOUKO EDP, AND PHILOSYKOS EDP
I'm new to fragrance, so I'm not sure if I'm describing this right, but I really enjoy the fruity sweetness in these fragrances combined with the earthy dirty feel. Is that a good description of these? I'm doing my best. Pls push me in the right direction with some fragrance recommendations, nothing too feminine

>I hate fougeres, barbershop frags, or anything that smells like showergel. I'm new, so haven't sampled a ton, but I think I dislike fresh fragrances except when it's called 'fresh spicy'. The word 'aromatic' is usually a red flag for me, except in Fille en Aguilles, maybe it's the dried fruits that save it for me?
>Didn't like Guerlain Vetiver, wasn't a fan of Encre Noir either (though it's right next to Terre on flowchart)
>I don't like musk, always smells like piss on my skin
>I don't think I like tabacco, TF TV was sickeningly sweet on me, dry down was nicer. Didn't like Burberry London (for men) didn't hate, but yeah, so I don't think I like tabacco

Sounds like you like chypres which typically consist of bergamot top notes, galbanum heart notes and oakmoss bottom notes. The top and bottom notes tend to be where that contrasting fruit and earthy thing comes from.

You might like azuree or aramis which are leather chypres, givenchy III, or Knowing. In general a lot of these old school feminines are quite suitable to be worn by men, but it sounds like you won't like the old school orientals.

You want sweet and dirty at the same time? Say no more anon

https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Parfum-d-Empire/Azemour-Les-Orangers-13888.html

I shill the shit out of pre 2018 Parfums D Empire releases, their new ones are decent but the original run were absolute bangers IMHO. Azemour is a dirty orange, if you like TdH you'll like Azemour.

A lateral rec is Montale Red Vetyver, which is TdH but with performance boosted to comically high levels and some stronger wood notes. Red Vetyver will last until you bathe, I've worn it and been stuck outside for roughly three days and could still easily smell it on day 2 at night.

If you're willing to spend a little more, please try Zanzibar

https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Memoirs-Of-A-Perfume-Collector/Tales-from-Zanzibar-72008.html

Notes say musk but there isn't a lot in there, I'm a huge fan of musk and wish there was. This is "the" summer frag IMHO, it smells sweet but not hyper fresh and clean so when you start sweating from being outside there isn't a real clash. People don't understand why middle eastern men wear such heavy/smoky/oriental frags all year round in hot climates, that's why.

On the mallcore front, find and sniff a Polo Red flanker. Fruity, woody, sweet and coffee smells, not dirty but not hyper clean either.

YSL Y EDP Intense is great, I think the dislike is due to the asinine trend of using concentrations to name frags but they're not really related, makes you think you're getting something else.

Intense is very similar to BDC Parfum: It's a god tier dumb reach fragrance for men over 30. I like the smell of the Y line, but I'm in my 40s;they're a little too youthful and bright for me to pull off.
Intense isn't a performance monster, its a separate fragrance from the previous Y line as well and would have been better named as something else. I don't really like the first ten minutes, the ginger makes it feel a little screechy but then it settles down into something elegant and smooth. The stars of the show are lavender, cedar and patchouli but to my nose everything else is very easily detectable. The notes aren't mindblowingly unique but they're handled well and there's a bit of smoky feel to the lavender and patchouli that makes it unique. The cedar isn't bright, sweet hamster cage cedar either. I have an oil diffuser and I use natural cedar oil in there. It smells like the Texas Cedarwood oil I use, sharp, slightly acrid, dry and smoky. It's a raw, unprocessed smell. Again, nothing unique here but the common notes are handled very well and blend together harmoniously. I expected this to smell like a cheap cash grab, and it's not. Ropion is credited with creating all of the Y frags but this feels different, like he gave a shit and made something with care. Intense feels calm, mature and professional. I wouldn't reach for it as my primary fragrance for a date but the smoky patchouli does give it enough sex appeal that it would absolutely work for a night out.

If you like BdC Parfum and Suavage Elixir, you'll like Y Intense and it's unique enough to not be redundant either. Performance is great,I work 12 hour shifts and it's easily detectable at the end of the day. I needed another dumb reach frag, this was well worth my money.

I'd say at least a 50% chance considering half the people can't smell it (me included, basically). After smelling (or not smelling) M01, I bought the discovery kit. Is this some sort of cope to justify only being able to afford a few large bottles of cheap, shitty frags while other anons with taste are enjoying a diverse collection with bottles of varying sizes?

Btw you're giving your babydick collection size away by claiming that a bottle under 50ml won't age enough to become "beast mode" which is nigger tier retardation, but let's do the math.

An average application of fragrance takes between 1/4 to 1/3 of an ml. So a 50 ml fragrance will last 150 applications give or take. If you have ten frags, you would have enough fragrance for five years assuming you didn't spray the same one every day. Are you claiming a fragrance needs more than five years to "macerate"? Are you aware that aging doesn't magically make a fragrance better, especially fragrances with volatile natural notes?
Anons say some pretty fucking dumb things in here to make themselves feel better but this is new.

Keep coping bro, I'm sure your 200ml bottles of Jovan Musk, Cuba Gold, Perry Ellis Red, JPG Le Male and Polo have aged marvelously and would truly embarrass everyone else's collection

For the non retards here, see pic related. Stop using dryer sheets, it's a waste of money, terrible for your clothes and bad for your health. Get a couple of wool dryer balls, they do the exact same thing. And for an added benefit, you can apply essential oils to them to scent your clothes, and it won't be over powering. Right now I've got a mix of cedar, vetiver, patchouli, frankincense and myrrh on my set, I got some small bottles of essential oils from whole foods and they'll last the rest of my life. Now my laundry smells amazing and I don't have to buy dryer sheets ever again.

Perhaps enjoy but not wear you dumbass, also other anons buy the full bottles, the proof is in the pictures.
>50ml won't age enough to become "beast mode"
wat, bottles don't go "beast" and i never said that you fucking spastic, maturing means it will become more smooth and aperture just like the heart will become more obvious rather than smell chemical. 50ml just means you have to wait 1 to 2 months for it to mature, so 200ml means 4 to 8 months of waiting. It's overall wholly impractical.
>cheap
Are you telling me cheap because you cannot buy something bigger than 50ml? go be poor somewhere else
>Are you claiming a fragrance needs more than five years to "macerate"?
I am claiming a great perfume good enough to be in your collection should be in quantities enough to withstand a decade or two, this is due to discontinuations. If you apply twice or thrice a month you should be able to withstand that long with a full bottle. And if your dicklet 30ml finishes you have to open the other box and spray it to commence that maturing process again, as in wine of course. Buying 3 30ml seems impractical too and that's another big reason, takes more space than a single 100ml.
>hurr i only want 50ml because i don't plan to use it much
Poor Plum Japonais fuckboys now think otherwise
>doesn't magically make a fragrance better
It smoothes the rough edges, so yeah it does make it better, seethe
>and would truly embarrass everyone else's collection
It probably would as they are at least bottles with perfumes on it, not dry balls straight from a render software you poor, dumb africanized maggot

I don't look as handsome as him at his prime , but I look considerably good as far as results with women go and since I always thought I was ugly my self steem is shit so I keep taking care of myself to the tiniest detail. Now I'm 31 and all the people my age are starting to look like shit and I can still pull 22 year olds

I found out I was handsome at 27 when I started to go out, I had crippling social anxiety and depression before that, so my sun exposure was almost zero. My co-workers at my first job thought I was 18 .

That's the thing, some guys peak early, get women, and then fade away in their 30s and it must suck never getting women again and dreaming of being younger.

Then you get guys 30 plus who start to find themselves. Start to look good then, start to really make the most of attracting women, and appreciating where they're at and enjoying life. And they will likely stay looking good for the next 20 years or so.

While some think they missed out on the fun of teenage years and their 20s, I def think starting to peak older is the better way. Because those that go downhill at 30, go down the rest of their lives, the ride is over.

I remember heaps of dudes and women, partying early on, dream life. Now they are just gone. Look middle aged, out of shape, given up on life. It's over for them.

The older you get, smarter and wiser, more confident, if that correlates with you looking better, fucking dynamite. meanwhile those that peaked early, they might get all of this now, but they look like shit. Depressing as hell.

Honestly think Jeremy is going there. And they will cope with more drugs and go rapidly downhill.

Right off the rip, the mix of carraway and pine makes this smell of piss. Not like kouros where it's just reminiscent of piss. This is straight piss, in a very bracing way. It very quickly calms down however and the patchouli and woody notes start shining through.

The drydown is a very pleasing leather tobacco. This is similar to yatagan with the pine but lacks yatagans castoreum note, and is in general a less masterful composition. A solid 3-4 stars.<div class="xa23b"><span class="xa23t"></span><span class="xa23i"></span></div>

You guys getting testers or samples or what? Do you actually go to a department store and walk up to the counter in 2023? Surely you dont just blind buy a frag in the triple digit range?

the 1st option is the cheapest but its not optimal in terms of price per ml.

Just copped a vintage bottle of Oscar Pour Lui and a 2018 bottle of Acqua di Gio Profumo (don't care if it's memed, I went though a bottle of it back in 2017 and loved it so much). Feeling pretty good fellas.

Getting vintage designers brings me so much more pleasure than any niche fragrance can bring me. It's like a treasure hunt and almost everything mogs most niche fragrances anyway - there is a LOT of complete garbage niche out there. A vintage of Hermes Bel Ami or Chanel Egoiste or even vintage Paco Rabanne decimates most of the niche market in terms of quality and creativity. Trust me kiddos, once you've been on this fragrance journey for a while you'll reach this enlightened state. There's some worthwhile niche brands (Amouage and Guerlain come to mind) but don't waste too much of your time on niche.

It's crazy, i have both a vintage of my dad's version and this. I get random whiffs of the vintage one when i wear the current scent. Bische really paid homage to the original or could be lucky accident. Current edp is modern and has a good melon hint to it other than all the leathery salty blue aromatics. People will smell you. I've had 3 compliments at work and have only had it for a month although i don't wear it daily.

Almond and sunscreen on 1st spray.
As it dries down it goes through something sweet but not fresh and it rounds itself off with the vanilla to, at least in my mind, create like a baked dessert like butter cookies or pie crust.
Only the 1st hour has any silage and after thats its a skin scent (but it lasts the whole day as on the skin).
Try to test it on your skin because lookin at the notes on Fragantica i sure can't smell any fruit or flower in here.

DUAs Tabacum is the best tobacco frag i tried recently. No extra blending sweetness or fruits. Just spicy, fresh, herbal tobacco with it's own natural sweetness. Red Tobacco, Tobacco Vanille, Naxos or shitty frags like that are major crimes against humanity.

Anybody try Gisada Ambassador for men? I kind of like it from the decant I got. Lot of light, fruity and fresh high and mid tones. Dries down a little sweet but not like a usual dark perfume. i just bought my first shalimar too a little while ago isn't it lovely? makes my neck sting for some reason lol but it's worth it for that lemon pound cake miasma that just weighs down on you and takes you to The Palace full of strange luxurious women burning incense and eating fruit on tiger rugs and bathing in oils and changing the diaper of the child prince. nothing like lingering shalimar while enjoying an after dinner cigarette. i'm so blessed to have one of the classics!

when i got it i was at a department store so i probably over-payed idk but it's just money lol and i also got an estee lauder white linen gift set along with it for a decent price, that one's lovely too just a very graceful aldehyde-floral

Already prepared for a sperg mentioning DUA in a bad way as a shaming tactic. Those shilled niche brands literally are not capable to blend a competent tobacco scent. Who the fuck want an explicit tobacco scent that barely smell like tobacco, but like fruitcakes, vanilla or straight up sweetbombs. Tabacum literally is just spicy, sharp tobacco leafs.
People who recommend Naxos or Herod as tobacco scents can lick my sweaty hairy nutsack.

>a frag costs 10 dollars to make
isnt that most goods because of economies of scale or some shit?
like, in fast food chain restaurants, they buy the cups and lids and straws and the syrup mix for the drinks and each and it breaks down to MAYBE 20 cents per unit, and most places will sell you a fountain soda for a dollar and up so that shits almost pure profit
after lots of fighting wages barely go up and corpos kick and scream that this is going to bankrupt them so theyre raising the prices to offset and yet they post record profits?
basically what im saying is that rich people are scum and everything is a scam
they wouldnt be rich without marking everything up and giving themselves a huge cut for doing nothing
