the ones I have are:
>Terre d'Hermes EDT (I prefer it for spring)
>JeP Neroli Intense (good blind buy if you like Neroli Portofino)
>Cerruti 1881 (someone told me it smells very pleasant but like an unkle lmao. I think that's on point, a pleasant if dated fresh green + floral chypre)

have considered buying:
>Philosykos (smells great, but mediocre performance and a bit pricy)
>Un Jardin Sur Le Nil (same as above)
>Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune (same as above)
>H24 Parfum (better than the EDT I think)
>Encre Noire Sport (smells great, but abysmal performance)
>Bleu de Chanel (unironically)
>Platinum Egoiste
>Vetiver Bourbon (someone shilled this here and it's cheap, might blind buy)

honestly I tend to struggle with freshies a bit. most of them are boring and with bad performance and pretty much all the ones I mentioned are a "like, not a love" for me

Need to pick a couple new frags for spring, rebuilding collection.

1: Green, grassy, floral but not rose
2: Citrus and incense
3: woody vanilla, but airy dry vanilla not thick and cloying.

I'm open to designer or niche, like to keep it below $300 per bottle.

Fun story time...

Last Sunday i went to a few garage sales, in one of them i found a middle aged lady selling random stuff, there i saw pic related, got it for $5 k owingly its not genuine but i liked the scent.

Wore this for the last 2 days and i actually like this scent, now, ive only smelled Sauvage on one of those Macys sample catalogues about 4 years ago so i dont remember how the origibal one smella like but i find it similar, now...does anyone know what juice is inside these knockoff frags? my guess is one of those Armaf clones like Ventana or Pride but i cant be sure since i dont own any of them, just want to know what the juice actually is so i can buy another one when this one gets dry.

Scent is spicy, with a touch of blue,

That bottle is looking rough. If you're just looking for some Sauvage-like juice with good performance, check Ajmal Kuro. It might even be in there. It doesn't have the opening but it goes straight to the drydown and performance is just like with Sauvage itself.

according to research posted in the previous thread, your fragrance preference might be related to your serotype in order to create immunologically stronger offspring with someone smelling like they could have a different serotype. since you don't like it but the women you've met like it, it is likely that they are drawn to the scent and not to your scent, therefore there's a high possibility for weakened offspring. so i guess wrap it then tap it, but if you want to procreate put on the juice you like.

Tom Ford launched Grey Vetiver in 2009 as a woody-spicy scent in Eau de Perfume concentration. In 2014, the house introduced its fresher, more luminous and lighter version—Grey Vetiver Eau de Toilette. In 2023, the collection ins expanded by the new edition - Grey Vetiver Parfum.

Described as a bolder iteration of the original, Grey Vetiver Parfum is inspired by Tom Ford's impeccable tailoring and styling. A trio of sustainably sourced vetivers are used to exude intense radiance. The notes of fresh orange blossom give way to saffron, as the world's most expensive spice. The fragrance elicits the essence of debonair masculinity, merging natural, sustainably sourced vetiver with warm orange flower and rich spices.

"If you go into our stores, grey is the color of the packaging, our carpets, and our walls; in a sense it's the Tom Ford color. The idea was to convey a cool, silvery, very refined vetiver." -TOM FORD.

Available in bottles of 50 and 100 ml.

Yeah maybe 5 or 7 mediocre ones but with Morillas you can still find several of his frags in decent form, with Bourdon who made a bunch of cult classics you would be hard pressed to find 2 or 3 that weren't raped with reformulations or discontinuations, including his Creed ones.
His work is hard to find aside from vintage bottles when back in the early to mid 00's he had dozens of stuff on the market, mostly untouched.

It makes sense. You think most normies even know about perfumers or think about it? They see Chanel no 5 and just think it was created by Coco or something. They probably think that designers are more of a status symbol than niche too. If you weren't into frags and see BdC and a frag from Perfume d'Empire, which one are you going to think is something that someone of status would wear. I dont even like Kurkdijan that much. His house was built on Baccarat Rouge, which I guess just got big on social media for some reason. Luck I guess. I hate that women love obscenely sweet shit.

>H24 EDT vs EDP

Similar enough to be redundant, I find the EDP to differ mainly in concentration and performance rather than smell. To be honest I the EDP *is* the EDT with the rough edges smoothed out. It's softer, fuller, lasts longer, wears closer to the skin and the big difference is the unripe banana note which lasts somehow through the life of the EDP. I much prefer the EDP performance wise, I like frags that last and don't shout. If you don't own either, get the EDP.
If you own the EdT, finish the bottle then get the EDP.

>>17533246
Encre Noire vs Extreme. Two excellent Lalique frags, made by a company that grasps what a flanker "should" be.

Encre Noire is the color of ink, black or midnight blue. It's dense, opaque. A wall of heavy Vetiver with a literal sweet ink note on top (shout out to Silver Mountain Water), it doesn't change much, it doesn't evolve, it gives you a monolith of vetiver. It's so comically butch.

Extreme isn't extreme at all, I think the name was a mistake BUT it's a good "flanker" in that it retains enough of the original to be recognizably related but goes on its own direction enough to warrant buying even if you have the original. Extreme isn't black, it's brown, a reddish brown at that with green on the side. It's 50% original Encre Noir, 25% dry woods (strong cypress) and 25% incense.
To me it's far and away superior to the original in terms of smell, originality, versatility, class, value, etc but the original beats the shit out of it performance wise. I get a legit 24 hours out of the original, it lasts till I shower. I am blessed if I hit 8hrs with Extreme, 6hrs is the norm. I would still take Extreme over the original any day.

Encre Noir 7/10
EN Extreme 9/10

You are both right due to the normalfag not knowing nor caring but it does show the niche hobbyist also doesn't care or doesn't have the money.
When saying perfumery is an art some fags, shills and reviewers forget it implies an artist and that he might have a consistent style, in my case with Bourdon i found i liked many of his frags although maybe because they were famous in the mainstream, yet i may explain it as a consistent style: No sweet shit aside from Individuel, both great apertures and drydowns, not powdery and often ozonic/fresh.
Now that i think of it Almairac also did OK in his indie venture, he also has a couple of cult classics which put him in the same level as Bourdon in the 80's: Fahrenheit, Minotaur, Zino, Joop.

>I dont even like Kurkdijan that much.
Me neither overall but i do appreciate Narciso Rodriguez EDT and Carven Homme enough to consider him on the map, some anons say his other Maison shit is pretty good, Grand Soir i think was one.
> I guess just got big on social media
>Luck
Also a factor, he may know how to use that compared to the 70yo oldfags who open their small store and wait for the connoisseurs to come in, Almairac being on the map because i think his son is the one doing the busy paperwork while he just mixes the oils.

The MFK stuff is intentionally made to be mass-pleasing, so that somewhat helped with getting them popular. I sometimes feel like going indie is the way for perfumers to release creations they couldn't have released otherwise, which is not the case with MFK. Even then he immediately picked up on becoming the in-house perfumer of Dior.

>>17533334
Kurkdjian made Le Male, which is the stuff that even got me interested in fragrances. He started his career with a banger. When it comes to MFK stuff, I have Gentle Fluidity Silver and Masculin Pluriel, although the second was bought discounted as part of a swap, since it's not worth full price imho. Grand Soir is great but I haven't been able to pick it up for a good price yet. A lot of the other stuff is good, but absolutely not worth the price. It's the main problem of his house. When it comes to the BR540 discussion, he just did something nobody had done before and it wasn't even that hard, so now there are one million clones with the same dna.

>>17533344
Technically probably true, but it is never just the fragrance. Lots of women sniff that stuff and like it, but other stuff as well. However, I think that a major factor is still being perceived - people can only judge your fragrance if they are able to smell it, and stuff like Sauvage allows them to do that within putting their nose directly on your skin. It's "don't smell bad" thing, simple as.

Le Male is dead compared to the original formula. I only know the smell of the ~2006 formulation and the 2020 formulation and it's fucking over for that stuff. It isn't "bad" now, it's just not what it used to be. From what I've read, restrictions on coumarin are to blame (around 2014). Coumarin hasn't even been confirmed to be an allergen, yet they restricted the use and had it show up on labels/ingredient lists. It's just sad and I hope they drop the restrictions one day. I'm not going to get another bottle until then and will fondly remember the original formulation. I'm not too big on the Le Male flankers, but at least Le Male Le Parfum brings something of the original back, which is the only flanker I care about in any way.

Le Male is the only one interesting enough historically at least, it really was a lucky strike unless you consider that Almairac's Minotaur being its prototype. Baccarat Rouge 540 was a highly budgeted commission for an expensive anniversary so it makes sense he took all his powers and ingredients to pull something out of it.
But because of Narciso Rodriguez EDT i cannot really shit on him, neither due to the original woman version which is very nice along with some of its flankers.

Is it really, the oranges smell bitter rather than sweet and the classic old school masculine lacks everything from the classic frags like vetiver, patchouli or oakmoss, being instead replaced with the single molecule Iso E Super.

Just got halston z-14. The bottle is cute with it's "pinch" design idea.

Pretty good, starts very heavy on the cinnamon and citrus, then the cedar starts poking through and the citrus becomes less prominent. As it dries down there's a sweaty animalic note. The cinnamon is noticeable throughout and gives it a real holiday vibe. Very reassuring fragrance, very masculine but would be hot on a woman.

Interesting to see that one of the perfumers on this was Vincent Marcello who, of course, was the nose on Yatagan (something I'm sure we all have a much cherished bottle of). There is a similar kind of thing going on, but where this smells warm and reassuring, yatagan with its stonking castoreum and harsh pine note veers straight into disquieting.

Overall: it's definitely not goyslop.

>why is everybody worried about ChatGPT taking their jobs?
As an AI language model, I don't have the ability to take anyone's job. My purpose is to assist and enhance human communication and problem-solving, not to replace humans.
However, there are concerns that advancements in AI and automation could lead to job displacement in certain industries. This has been a concern for decades, and it's not unique to ChatGPT or any specific AI technology. The fear is that as AI and automation become more advanced, they could take over certain jobs that are currently done by humans.
It's important to remember that AI and automation can also create new job opportunities in areas such as software development, data analysis, and robotics. Additionally, AI can also help to improve efficiency and productivity in certain industries, which can lead to economic growth and job creation.
Overall, while there are concerns about AI and automation affecting employment, it's important to approach these developments with a balanced perspective and consider both the potential benefits and challenges.

You can still buy peanut butter even though it's allergic, and most of the potential carcinogen exposure is at homeopathic levels, every time you walk past a street with cars in it you probably do 1000 perfume bottles worth of damage to your lungs.

L post
bought a 5ml decant of this for $12 not knowing it was a super cheap and common fragrance. I never checked the price of the bottles
the worst part is that it smells like an airport bathroom on both skin and paper. a bit of rotting yuzu if i try hard to smell that. maybe fragantica tards like the smell of flowery piss.

There's a sweet rootiness to it too, which I guess is what they say is the beet. Really not sure how I feel about this one. I also have floriental to try

I smell the beet now, but, for me, this is basically a high quality version of Hermann from ELDO and Declaration Soir, which I both think smell cheap and medicinal.

Holy shit Dior Fahrenheit mogs every single fragrance Ive ever smelled by a mile

It literally just smells like gasoline and its based. I would buy a 6.7oz bottle but not sure it would be a panty dropper for college classes, ill just stick to dylan blue and sauvage

Maybe not absolutely hate, but Bvlgari Man Terrae Essence has this burnt, sour note to it that I just do not enjoy at all.
