What do I need to care for my boots?

How do I deal with x stain?
>mud: allow it to dry then brush off
>salt: water and cloth as soon as possible
>saturated wet: allow the boot to dry for a full day, stuff with newspaper
>scuffs and scratches: buff vigorously with horsehair brush

Have you guys ever worn Doc Martens? They're super comfortable and super durable. I've gotten rid of every shoe I own since getting my 1460s. Plus they're basically buy for life so I don't need to where anything else!

For my thinner socks I just buy M&S.
I know the French store sells Bresciani socks but it feels a bit like a scam to buy 25€ thin cotton socks. Somehow it feels alright if it's thick wool though.

I ordered my pair in august of last year, and have worn them almost 3-4 days a week every week since I received them. I've cleaned and conditioned them with bickmores little line of products and have absolutely abused the damn things. The leather around the edge of the sole is starting to separate, but the stitching isn't getting lose. [assuming glue is deteriorated] I've enjoyed them however they were only 160 when I ordered them. Which is something K-store is doing a lot more now.
They certainly aren't the highest quality but I think for the price they are damn good. You will have to change the insole out though.

Hello guys I need help, I ordered chelseas and they are too big so I am returning them and taking a smaller pair. They are a little too big even with thick socks and now I am not sure if I should go half size down or full size down.
On one hand I guess that leather will stretch a little and chelseas should fit snuggly so I could go full size down. On the other hand I am afraid I will trade boots too big for boots too small like a retard.

do yourself a favor and compare to another pair of boots you own. particularly the heel/midstep. the thing you want lined up most of all is the arch/midstep along with the widest part of the boot fitting along the box of your toe (widest part of your foot)
if you have all of that down there's not too much you can do. remember since your boot isn't MTO that it will never be a perfect fit.

What are your opinions on Crockett and Jones sizing? I've never owned any handmade leather boots, only mass produced shit. I usually buy size 43 sneakers.

The chart they have on their website weirds me out though. My feet are ~270-272mm long which basically means I should pick size UK 9 or 9,5 according to them. These sizes are the equivalent of EU size 43-43,5 according to them but from what I've read on the internet you're definitely supposed to go down one size or half a size from your average sneaker size when buying handmade boots. 43-43,5 is the same or even going up a size though.
