The problem with Cav Empt is that they went through some kind of design shift around 2016-2017 and now most of what they produce is 'shovelware', very frequently going to sale or resale even within the same season. There's maybe 1 or 2 interesting items per season now. If you take a look at this page

You can see all of what they've released over time minus a handful of collaboration items. As you scroll down you'll notice that in recent years, they've increasingly gone for items that feature small or no graphics, overdying everything, and brighter, more saturated colours. The graphics themselves have also changed away from 90's style rave posters to high fidelity autovectors. It sucks because now that I have more money to spend I'd love to buy something brand new but rarely does anything interest me enough to do so. The prices have also increased dramatically.

Thanks for the suggestions but I already actively check every online marketplace I know of multiple times a day for various specific items, both C.E and not, that I'm hunting for. I've managed to balloon my collection over the past couple of years because of this, for example I managed to find pic related in 9.5/10 condition for $150 USD equivilent. Good, old C.E has really dried up in availability. Depop is a terrible website and Grailed is just as bad although I have more experience with it.

Collector's autism. I didn't have them before because I didn't have money so now I want to snatch them up when I can. To be clear, I do make an effort to wear what I buy. In the case of the yellow noise sweatshirt it's just because I want to wear it with pink jeans I have.

I'm going to parrot what I read somewhere recently and say that there definitely is still quality and innovation to be found in fashion, but you usually have to go looking for it, buying from independent brands and so on. In that same post the author compared Loro Piana jackets from pre-LVMH and post-LVMH and found that they had cut numerous corners to save on production costs and so on. I'm far from a #menswear #workwear person but I think things are in a pretty bad state when even a premium item that isn't a 'premium athleisure' item like a screenprinted Balenciaga hoodie lacks details. If you tell me what types of clothing you like I can share some of the independent brands I know of.
